For anyone wanting to beat Dante Must Die difficulty on this, start out on Easy, collecting all the hidden items and finishing the secret missions, then move onto the next difficulty in NG+ collecting all the hidden items. It saves on orbs, and you'll definitely be using those items to just survive DMD.

If you play on Easy, you can't move on to the higher difficulties. The mode you're thinking about is "Normal", not the Easy Automatic one.
