Shinada's fighting style is arguably the truest form of brawling out of all the fighting styles in the series. Sure, Kiryu in 0 has a brawler style but it was really an unrefined version of his dragon style which incorporates boxing, wrestling, karate etc. Shinada's style is very much a workman's approach to fighting; doing whatever it takes to deal damage. But in truth, it just makes Shinada stand out more as the real everyman of the Yakuza where as everyone else are street legends in their own right.

@@au-198 As I said, "everyman of Yakuza". Shinada is capable of holding his own against an Amon and is physically capable of knocking up three dudes with a spinning pole move as one of his essence attacks. But his portrayal in-game and fighting mostly shows him as a naive civilian being way over his head in a criminal conspiracy. It adds a level of charm to him when comparing him to others where their excuse of having amazing fighting abilities is just dealing with yakuza/the underworld on a near-consent basis.

Shinada has more modern fighting style, flexible stance and unplanned movements. That makes him unpredictable in an open brawl.

I was thinking about it too. I think this is one of the fights that can be both. It's a long fight because it's a bunch of randoms, but I think it can also be a boss fight because there is one enemy with a large HP with many goons.
