Welcome :-). Devin's music is a bit all over the place (in a good way!) so there's a tonne of variety. Metal is a very diverse genre generally. A lot of symphonic metal (bands like Nightwish and Epica) are quite accessible for people with non-metal tastes, ditto with progressive metal (e.g. Dream Theater and Haken - Haken's music, like Devin's, is extremely broad). You do often get sucked down a rabbit hole and end up listening to the heavier stuff as well - once you figure out bands like Meshuggah they become strangely hypnotic.

I just saw DTP with BTBAM. It was my third time seeing DTP and I gotta say, he is a positive dude. Really makes you laugh and smile. He said that they wanted to show that heavy metal can come from a place of love. You'd never hear that at any other metal show!
