This was the first Devin's song I've listened... It was love at first "sight". And a curiosity: you talked about Strapping Young Lad, but this song was written at the same time of SYL album "City" (back in 1997). There was no "DTP" that time. This song if from the album "Ocean Machine: Biomech".

Heavy Devy One of my favorite humans Seen the great performer 3 times, the first time in 1993 with Steve Vai! His sound is so good live Great review Ruben, as always ;~) England If you watch "the death of music" from the same concert, you can see that Dev gets goosebumps! Nice reaction Ruben! I noticed the girl in the middle of the song as well! lol I love all of devins music, but there's really something about his first 10-15 years or so of music with SYL and his solo projects that seem a little more passionate then his last several albums. Maybe it's just me..... but sometimes I feel like each super gifted artist may have an infinite amount of ideas and prowess to showcase them, but only have a finite amount of passion. Obviously there's always exceptions. Anyways Ruben you need to check out something from his Terria album..... it's fucking fantastic!

I always ask myself how people can enjoy this on their computers. Here are some rules for true music lovers: - Watch it on BD or listen to it on CD or any other lossless source. - Use a good AMP or AVR. - If headphones: Good ones of course and no headset or something like that. - Please no PC Speakers. If no tannoys, then at least turn your surround system to stereo. - Get your mixing straight. If you follow these rules, the music of Devy will blast you away at least 6 times more. I watch at least every 3 months his BDs of The Retinal Circus and Live At Royal Albert Hall. As loud as possible and on my big screen and on my couch h.a.f. and it never gets boring or repetitive. His concerts are always ape shit crazy and you always conquest something new going on. I mean, if you guys all react like that on this tiny solo gig, I wonder what your face would look like when you watch "Grace" from The Retinal Circus in all it´s glory on a 75" screen in HD and with the subwoofer kicking your guts. (I do not recommend this at this point, because Grace is Le Grande Finale of this concert and everybody should watch the whole thing because it tells a story.) You young people should all get up from your crazy computer racing chairs and go, where the real action is: On the couch. Just kidding. And I really hope you noobs will finally discover Anneke van Giersbergen. Not kidding. Best regards and rock on

Speaking of, still waiting for you do Wrong Side, the official video; it is way better than what you did. Still enjoying the Devin Townsend Saturdays, nice seeing a new fan growing more and more in his music. And about this song, yes, it truly is his best. This was a really old song of his, you have to listen to Funeral, Bastard, and Death of Music as one song.
