Hello there,its been a very nice review,i am after a devinci troy 29 also me these days.But i am not sure about size.I am 177cm and i used to ride large size in 27.5(600 top tube 440 reach) old bikes.Do you think i have to go for medium?Does have more room this bike?

I'm 5'10" (177.8cm) and I ride medium bikes almost exclusively. My arm span is 177.8 cm also, and my inseam is 78cm. Dan at Fanatik

Hi Dan, I’m 5’6” and a bit (169cm) would you recommend Troy 29er for me, S or M? or get the 27.5, is it as poppy as the Spartan? Thanks in advance 👍🏼 Awesome videos as always guys

Hi Mark, Thanks for the feedback! I would definitely recommend a small for you unless you have a very long torso or very long arms (in relation to your height). It is actually a bit easier to move around than the Spartan, which is a heck of a lot bigger bike, harder to pre-load the suspension. Let us know if you have any more Qs! Dan at Fanatik

Definitely on my shorts list. Hey, quick question though, I run moto-style brakes - or what I call correct style brakes, and is there a rear brake port on the right side on the head tube so I can properly rout my rear brake cable like it should be, or do I have to route it incorrectly on the left (NDS) side of the head tube?
@FanatikBikeCo
@FanatikBikeCo 6 жыл бұрын
Yes! You can route the left side brake hose over to the drive side internal routing hole. There are two holes there, one of which will be used by the dropper post. Cheers, Dan at Fanatik

Perfect! (although my 2018 V2.0 Vyron dropper thankfully doesn't need it and will take me 45 seconds to install!) Thanks Dan!

In the PNW, bellingham and duthie area, would I be best served by a devinci troy alloy GX build or an ibis ripmo af slx build? I have lots of mixed ups and downs and need a bike that can pedal without bobbing.

Both are pretty similar bikes. I'm partial to the Ripmo AF :P

I'm guilty of this myself, but that is a result of people thinking they need the longest travel, gnarliest, most rad bike out there, when in fact something less aggressive might be a lot more fun for the day to day. At one point I had a Subaru WRX, which was friggin rad, bud turns out that my current Honda Element is way more useful and enjoyable (sound system is way better!!) P.S. I know those are the most stereotypical cars someone like myself could ever own. Yuck. Thanks for watching! Dan at Fanatik

What do you guys think about the Motobecane hal6 team 12edition for $2695...has sram x01 eagle, pike wtb.. I’m curious to your opinion on the geometry... thank you Great reviews BTW....
@FanatikBikeCo
@FanatikBikeCo 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Robert! Those components are pretty awesome, especially for that price. You'll likely find that you'll want a different frame down the road. The pivots and hardware on that frame look like they're from the hardware store, and although I couldn't find a geometry chart for it, I bet the numbers aren't anything too compelling. That might be a good way to go if you want to swap frames down the road. I personally would suggest taking a look at the new GT Force, which has a dialed geometry and a decent build kit. There is one model that is $2,499 and has decent suspension. www.fanatikbike.com/collections/gt-force/products/gt-force-comp-complete-bike-2019 And one that is $2,999, and has great suspension that I wouldn't foresee you needing to replace any time soon. www.fanatikbike.com/collections/gt-force/products/gt-force-comp-complete-bike-2019 Let me know if you have any more Qs! Fanatik Bike Co. quick question... what were you referring to when you were talking about the hardware ? And what about the pivots do you not like? Thank you
@FanatikBikeCo
@FanatikBikeCo 6 жыл бұрын
By hardware I mean the bolts and nuts used to hold the pivots together. It all looks a bit chintzy. That's all from just a quick look at some photos though, I have not seen one in real life. Cheers, Dan at Fanatik

l was watching til the end expecting a Hawaiian BBQ but the review was killer. l can't wait to get to Outerbike to test out the Troy but can a Fox DPX2 or other Fox shock work on the Troy?
@FanatikBikeCo
@FanatikBikeCo 6 жыл бұрын
There is a DPX2 that will work with this frame, yup! 185x52.5 Trunnion. It would have to be a special order to get it tuned for this frame, but definitely can be done. Cheers, Dan at Fanatik

Thank you. I have another concern about the seatangle. From the number, the SA should be as steep as my current Transition Sentinel. From the pictures it looks much slacker. Which would be a problem for me (tall guy with a long seatpost). The paper says its 75,8°, what is your impress with that? Does Rich had the feeling to pedal from "behind"? @@FanatikBikeCo
@FanatikBikeCo
@FanatikBikeCo 5 жыл бұрын
@@matthias6353 Good question. Both these companies list the "effective" seat tube angle, in which you draw an imaginary line from the bottom bracket up to the horizontal line at the height of the head tube (if that doesn't make sense look at Devinci's geo chart, which I'll link to below. It has a picture). What that means though is that the actual seat tube angle is, for both bikes in fact, slacker. Rich says he felt more forward than that, not on top of the rear wheel, and he does have long legs. Without being able to give you a proven answer, I'd give an educated guess that you'll find it just fine. There is always some wiggle room to move the saddle forward in the seat clamp. www.devinci.com/bikes/bike_1062_scategory_274

How does it compare to the Transition Sentinel?
@FanatikBikeCo
@FanatikBikeCo 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Neal, It is more fun as an everyday rider, just because it is not quite as aggressive. It has similar geometry, but the head angle is not quite as slack. If you are racing or riding DH on it a lot, I think the Sentinel might be more up your alley. Best, Dan at Fanatik

How does this bike compare to the ripmo?
@FanatikBikeCo
@FanatikBikeCo 6 жыл бұрын
Good question, it is actually very similar in many ways to the Ripmo. The geometry is near identical (no claims that they stole it please, the Ripmo has nearly the same geometry as the Transition Smuggler, that's how the bike industry works), as is the travel. It is an awesome alternative, especially since it has a lifetime frame warranty. Let me know if you have any more Qs! Cheers, Dan at Fanatik

Fanatik Bike Co. What about suspension performance for pedaling efficiency, descending, technical climbing?
@FanatikBikeCo
@FanatikBikeCo 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Colt, I haven't ridden either, but owning a Devinci Django and having owned an HD4 and ridden a Ripley a lot, I'd be willing to bet that the Troy climbs more efficiently. The Split Pivot design seems to make for bikes that pedal exceptionally. Jason's personal feedback was that he likes how the Troy descends better, saying that it felt more stable and planted. Whether that was from the kinematics of the suspension or increased stiffness from a rear triangle that isn't attached by two little rocker links, a wider hub, etc, he couldn't say, but he said he likes it better. Honestly, they are both extremely high end bikes, and given the similarities in geometry, they are probably pretty much on par. One huge advantage that the Troy 29'er has is that it isn't backordered until October ;) Cheers, Dan at Fanatik
