Best MTB Frame For Your Buck? | Devinci Troy 29 Carbon/Alloy Frame

When doing a custom bike build or just replacing your current frame, you probably know the market is saturated with too many frame-only options. Typically, the pricing between the options is about the same and really isn't ever a deciding factor.
However, Devinci has frame-only options for the Troy and Spartan which include more components than pretty much every other frame out there. Specifically the 2020 Troy 29 Carbon/Aluminum frame which sells for $2,699 and includes some sweet parts which saves you money both up front and in the long run.

When considering the parts that come with Devinci frames they are a decent value and have a strong warranty. You can still get 2019 Troy all carbon for under $2300 right now if you look around. And that includes a Reverb (which will hopefully work out of the box).

I’ve got a 2020 Troy 27 in aluminum. The whole bike cost $3150 Canadian. There is an aluminum Troy 29 for the same price with the same build. Not many other manufacturers can touch the value of this considering I didn’t need to upgrade any major components out of the box. I actually don’t know how they made this build that cheap. Plus I will echo what you said: this thing took no time at all to get comfortable riding. I hit a gnarly trail for the first time ever on this bike as the first trail ever ridden on it and it was incredibly intuitive.

Dude compared to canyon, radon, yt, this really is anything but great value. It's insane how much mtb's cost. And don't try to tell us it's all necessary for all the r&d that goes into them. So many very comparable branches deliver so much better value for their products it's insane

There are definitely some direct to consumer bikes out there with cheap bikes, however I can't speak for their customer service. We've heard some terrible stories of people straight up being ignored by direct to consumer brands. However, this isn't the story with bike brands like Devinci who offer a Lifetime Warranty and actually help you out when something goes wrong.

Local bike shops sponsor riders and races, employ locals, and are an integral part of a healthy mountain bike scene. Add to that the complimentary tune-ups,saving on gear,etc (that come with purchasing a bike) and the DTC service horror stories(looking at you YT) and direct to consumers obvious value win starts to crumble. I guess it comes down to how much you value these kinds of things. From a non DTC company Devinci’s frames are a fantastic value and they are amazing to ride.

Just picked up a 2019 pivot Mach 6 carbon frame from my local pivot dealer for $2000. To be fair I am friends with the guy who owns the shop, so maybe not everyone can get that kind of deal, but pivot is currently clearing out Mach 6 frames from last year so might be worth asking your local pivot dealer about if you are in the market. Full carbon front and rear and comes with a Fox factory dpx2. No headset or dropper included, but not bad for a flat 2k.

Definitely cheaper options out there, but this is more of a boutique carbon frame which costs more. I wish prices of cars were relative to bikes, because a fully carbon enduro bike would be like $300 😂

The Lost Co. i had a canyon carbon frame and it cracked under normal use within 1 year so would not recommend. I now have a 2020 alloy stumpy evo 27.5 with a lifetime warranty.
