Great video Devon, I'm 40yrs old and been in all sorts of sports my whole life, and a lot of people say that there aren't any sports left for my age group and I say I beg to differ. I started watching you and Monster and others a long time ago and decided that age is really just a number in Armwrestling. I’m 21, extremely new to armwrestling(haven’t trained with proper equipment once) I’m decently strong I’d say, with a 405 deadlift 275lb bench, 115lb for 3 preacher curl. I’m 174 lbs. Are you worried as a newbie for arm breaks from improper form, or just by getting smacked by someone else way stronger? I’d love to know how strong you are and if you actually “win” against people, and what it’s like just getting into it.

For me to start this sport, these tips are worthier than gold. I don‘t think its too late, today is my 53. birthday. I don‘t want to hurt myself with starting too enthusiastic but with these tips i think i‘m going to it. But there‘s much more to know so i hope to get some more advices from you, Devon! So i‘m lookin‘ forward hopefully to some more of your technical explanations. There are two things that made me strong in my decision to start this sport. The first are the videos of your fights and the second is that i lost my fight against my 17 year old son. He‘s already working on a farm in his freetime for more than two years and he‘s on the way to get a giant. I had spine problems since 28 and started to train again last year after rehabilitated from my last , the fifth spinal disc herniation ( 2 in the neck, 3 downstairs ). I‘m very motivated by your personality and your success in this sport. Thank you for being you, Devon! You are my champ of all times! Best luck and wishes to you!💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

Most of the arm wrestlers I've met are just some of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, and Devin is a prime example. The sportsmanship he, and a great deal of all the other pullers display time after time is unparalleled in competition. It takes guts to get up there and pull a guy like Devin, and with grace he lets you play the game and get a work out in without ripping your arm. You're great bud.

Although I'll never be an actual arm wrestler, I became a big fan after watching Over the Top (again) when I was a young teen (early 90s). After shattering my wrist at 12yrs old and again in Highschool, I began searching for wrist exercises to help with mobility. Arm Wrestling exercises gave the best results by far. I'm 150lbs (5"9) and drag a 150lbs hose for a living. These exercises I've learned and honed by watching professional arm wrestlers including Devons oldest videos here have made me a machine. The Moral is, these exercises are definitely for more than just arm wrestling. What started as rehab has ended up being a life saver in my career.

I actually train in Japan and my hardest issue with learning is the language barrier. Its more that I feel that I am missing out on advice and what to feel for in the strap manipulation. Otherwise I have learned to feel other people's pressure and I learned to mimic it. But It is hard to copy and feel the setup in the strap. In short words I am missing out on the in depth knowledge of the sport and the final cuts around the edges. That is why I need this camp. LMAO.

I just made my second armwrestling table. It’s an arm sumo / freedom style table with pegs though, so it’s kind of a Frankenstein build. But the first one I built was a learning experience. As someone who can’t armwrestle other people a lot because the lack of club and my friends aren’t necessarily interested. My best exposure I’ve had is armwrestling all the personal trainers at my job. (I work at a huge gymnasium as a technician/handyman so whenever I talk to some of the guys and girls who are PT there we have a go at it.) Also some of my coworkers in my job are freakishly strong so we always armwreslte in the back as well. They pretty much know me as the young guy who has bigger than average forearms and is always looking to armwrestle someone. I’ve been trying to start a club at my University where I attended classes, but the process requires you to have 10+ people with designated positions such as Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Sponsor, etc. etc. Which is kind of ridiculous. But I’m looking forward to going back to Martial Art Club (my first sport I practiced and still practice, and see if they let me have a mini ‘seminar’ or showcase of armwrestling.) I’ve been practicing armwrestling for about 3 years, but with really only a small fraction of it being actual table time sadly. Most of it is just the strength building exercises your average armwrestler would do and pulling some of your coworkers and friends. I guess the whole reason I wrote this is because I really won’t let anything stop me from trying to be involved with the community. And nothing should stop anyone else from being a part of the community. Get a judo belt and loop some weights through it, get some grippers , make a table, bring it up to your friends and family, watch all the videos you can, and most of all be safe so you can do it for a long time.

I found a 150 lb pro guy. I'm 210lbs with some natural skill and I cant pin him. But I can work with him well and he's a wealth of knowledge. Now I beat everybody at our practice but him.I got lucky finding my arm buddy. Definitely find a group on armbet. Don't give up just keep reaching out. Table time is the best. Once a week and even that can be too much, as my tendons are blazed right now and I need two weeks to heal. Don't overdo it, once a week proved too much for me right now with the intensity I like to bring. I need to calm down. Dont overdo it folks. Chop bertrand told me in person " you gotta be able to take the pain" this game hurts be ready for the tendon pain. You gotta let it heal.l

I would love for you to watch videos on people breaking their arms, plenty of videos can be found on youtube of that and you say what not to do for beginners as from what i can tell many of the arm breaks you find are amateurs.
