What makes queef jerky great to me is how its so completely silly but its not just nothing. It has energy that sticks with you and you can hear the process of it being made while listening to it. For me specifically the music also occupies my whole mind at once so when I drive Im not over correcting I'm not overthinking, when I'm writing stuff of my own I'm not even thinking. i think another part of the reason why queef is blowing up is because people are tired of the same thing and I feel like so much music nowadays is trying to blow up and become the next big hit. not to say that all recent music is like that, but it seems to be a large chunk of what is highly promoted. but with queef, you can tell it's just people having fun. goofing around. making music simply because they enjoy it, not necessarily caring if it fits into a standard or what is typically deemed as good.

This video was surprisingly inspirational. I'm ADHD and struggle so much with perfectionism. I've been told the "Do's" and "Don'ts" my entire life, whether that be socially, academically, or professionally, that I am terrified of making mistakes. Even with my art that is supposed to be for me, I rarely finish because I need it to be perfect. I'm going to write out the transcript for this video and tape it at my desk.

I'm very glad that you've embraced this straightforward TikTok promo strategy, and it also immediately worked for you. I completely agree with the enthusiastic speech about not spending hours on Spotify pitches and days on sample selection. My situation is that I'm releasing an album that I've been working on since 2014 (along with a whole KZbin series about album's recording process with Altai shamans ha). And the number of streams and views I'm getting, unfortunately, doesn't compare to the efforts I've put into my work all these years hehe. So, I wish you to keep your enthusiastic spirit and continue releasing more and trying different things. This is also a piece of advice for myself since I have three more projects in my storage that I could already release and move forward. As Kenny Beats would say, "Don't overthink shit." Amen

18:16 I'm a writer and painter with massive perfectionism issues amplified by my ADHD, meaning I'll hyperfixate on a project I'm working on for months or even years and nothing is never good enough for people to see. it feels good knowing I'm not the only one, especially knowing an artist I admire has felt the same need for perfection. I've been working on trying to leave perfection behind and just diving in and sharing my work, even if it isn't perfect. it's hard, but just being conscious of it is a big step in the right direction! thanks for the encouragement, dev! i think your message is a great one and im excited to hear what you do with your new sense of freedom with your personal work!!!

I've noticed this pattern on Tik Tok as well... Almost everything that's ever successful on the platform is seemingly "low effort" or "casual". People are unfortunately turned off by content that seems like it's "trying to be good", for lack of a better term. It's been the bane of my existence trying to get my KZbin song mashups to be noticed in the same way on Tik Tok, because the video just needs to seem low effort and approachable, and not like it's "trying too hard". It also needs to grab your attention within the first 2 seconds, or else most people will just scroll past it. it's kind of paradoxical, the way that I have to put extra effort into making something seem less effortful... And the point is to avoid overthinking it in the first place, in which case I've already failed. Lol. I hate trying to make content for Tik Tok

A part of what i like ab it is that it doesn’t feel like u *have* to be anyone specific to listen to it. If that makes any sense. I mean like a lot of music takes itself so extremely seriously these days, to the point where fans are like ‘you aren’t actually a fan of ___ unless you’re ___ or know about ___’ like idk. A lot of music has become elitist without even being aware so i love listening to something that is so authentically emotional, that says things you would never imagine to be said in general and then sung/shouted/rapped over an even wilder instrumental is something so special !!!
