Yeah, bro, this is it. This kind of content is amazing. In analogy, to keep repeating the first part of the top-roll, without exploiting it for greater height, is like keeping on pulling the lever on the slot-machine at a casino, hitting the jackpot, ignoring it, keep pulling the lever until you run out of money, getting up, walking out, leaving all your winnings, and saying you would win if only you had better luck. He could have won, but he doesn't know what a jackpot looks like or how to cash out. He's just making headway and giving it up, without capitalizing on it.

And I mean I've been watching the sport for two years and everything Devon is saying as he explains it better than Neil but Neil is essentially saying the same thing is correct and I can tell its correct with my limited experience in the sport. You're just simply gaining better biomechanical position and angles and just working them better and better and better to keep gaining position. Its crazy how simple Mindaugas was thinking like pressing will just beat his toproll no matter what

Best high level arm wrestling discussion on the net. If anyone knows of other videos of a similar calibre I would be all ears. That moment where Mindaugas said a defensive hook doesn't exist and Devon / Neil look on in sheer disbelief as to what they've just heard is incredible, Mindaugas, a Zolty Tur L/R hand Winner finds himself getting somewhat humbled on a statement on technique is so rare and resulted in such an insightful conversation.

It was not a discussion, but rather a seminar that Devon did a couple of weeks ago in Kentucky. It had some quite good parts. The whole video was posted in the Two One Seven KZbin Channel with the title: Devon LARRATT’s FULL SEMINAR ft. Ron BATH, COBRA Rhodes, Artem TARANENKO. It is a quite large video but it is segmented in about 20+ parts so you can skip to the segments you are more interested in. The part I would suggest you to listen to would be "Armwrestling Theory". It's up to you to decide if you want to listen to whole thing or maybe just some parts of it.

John knows more and apply more moves in real matches than Minda ever has. Minda is a prominant toproller, he has no inside game compare to his elite outside level. But it's not what they discussed there. They were on about how/what Minda should do against Daniel Procopciuc for him to win next time (or what training he should focus on to move toward that goal in future), because apparently Minda can't win once Daniel set his move.

What Devon said about the supination in climbing was right. Mindaugas could have pronated again after he climbed. He already busted the opponent's wrist open in the start. The price of the flop wrist is that you lose your hand control since that round. Plus, once you gain height, the hand game is yours so it's nearly impossible to get in the hook unless you want to. Saying that he would have ended up in a hook with the climb seemed pointless, that's why Devon just told him to get better at toproll.
@mystictheninja1486

I kinda feel bad for Mindaugas because he was getting 3v1'd and was always being respectful and letting others talk, which turned into more of a condescending thing than is helpful. I kept wanting to hear his actual opinion on why it wouldn't work, what exactly he was having a problem with, but I never really learned what he was so afraid of because everyone else was cramming their opinions down his throat. At least Devon eased off a bit and tried to listen to him and watch the actual matches so it wasn't just some assumptions on their part. Look at the actual problem rather than some metaphor. In the end I hope he gained something from it at least.

Mindaugas was totally disadvantage before the go each round, mindaugas had both feet on the ground while Daniel had one foot up on the table leg, totally twisted hips/torso and spine faking straight shoulders before the go, totally wound up like a spring and at go he uncoils, lats, shoulder instantly in an advantage position so really all you experts do not even point this out when it is obvious same Scenario Mindaugas vs Nurdaulet Aidarkhan, these type of armwrestlers that perform this move including Jerry, Alizhan Muratov and many others have The Total advantage before the go. Now move all four table legs out/extend the table legs out three feet then those fighters have less of an advantage and have to actually arm wrestle with both feet on the ground not their manhood pointed at the audience or the backboard depending on what side of the table there pulling.. this is a flaw in arm wrestling that is allowed and is not logical at All!
