Devon Larratt talks about the Denis vs Ermes supermatch

Devon has shared his impressions of the supermatch between Ermes and Denis, based on his previous experience with both competitors. He argues that from a stylistic perspective, Ermes presents a considerable challenge to Denis. Consequently, Devon anticipates that Ermes will assert himself with authority. He states that Ermes will take the initiative from the beginning, adopting an offensive stance that makes him extremely dangerous. Furthermore, he points out that Denis, being in a defensive position, will fail to control Ermes' wrist, resulting in his defeat.
Furthermore, Devon claims that, in his current state, he himself would emerge victorious in a matchup against the Denis of 2018.

Pienso que hoy en día hay un nivel más equilibrado entre los competidores, denis sobresalía mucho en 2018. Pero ese mismo denis contra los actuales sería top 2 o 3.

devon says, i resect denis so much and he can beat levan, next mnth he says i will crush you denis, remember me, next month he says denis at any form could never even touch him and if denis wins the ermes match devon will say how he' so strong, devon used to be humble now a bully who thinks he can trash talk but a handshake at the end of a match makes it alright. there's is no honour in bullying a weaker opponent at the table- what would is friends from the battlefield think of devon now, honourless.

well when denis revealed that he will be atleast 85-90 percent of his prime..many arm wrestlers believed that it would be enough to beat devon....even denis believed that it would be enough to beat devon....denis is not a fool he is a very calculated arm wrestler...he thought he has more than enough power to destroy devon again...but devon was in a completely different league altogether which was not expected by denis or his team....they thought yeah devon is stronger than 2018 but the difference wont be too much...and thats where they were wrong...there is no comparison between this devon and 2018 devon...2018 would get destroyed by any super heavyweight arm wrestler including current denis...but current devon is a favourite against anyone except levan....I think this devon is cunning and strong enough to exploit the weakness of 2018 denis and beat him in an absolute war...anybody who is going up against levan now and can reach to somewhat close to levan would beat 2018 denis.

@@vikasmallick8041 except denis have changed his style his training and his lifts and he's making his comeback after 5 years of no supermatches or tournament and like you said he miscalculated the the power of devon and i think he overestimated his own , I don't think this denis is even 60 percent of his prime , this denis is more endurance oriented while in his prime he was a powerhouse but i guess his injury made him make the change , anyways I'm not taking away anything from devon he made major improvement over his 2018 version and dealt with the cards way better than denis did ,so he was definitely the better man this time

@@mikhaelgarious5432 No disrespect but 60 percent is way too much...like losing 40 percent of strength is Huge...at this level of armwrestling if someone is even 5 percent stronger than the opponent then its a huge deal...lets look at it this way...prime denis cheat curled 170 kg for 1 rep...for denis to lose 40 percent power he needs to be only lifting 102 kg cheat curling for only one rep...but as it is shown multiple times denis is much stronger than that...denis was curling 120 kg seated(which is harder as u cant cheat much while seated) for multiple reps....denis might not be able to curl 170 kg for one rep currently but he can definitely do 140 atleast one rep if not more which is about 85 percent...the thing is that even losing 10 - 15 percent is huge....u cannot win at this level while being 85 to 90 percent unless u are much much better than the other person...I think everything just added up in this loss...denis has lost some strength, devon has gained some strength, devon has evolved his trainining and style(as impossible as it sounds, devon has improved his technique even more than what he had earlier), denis has changed his style (which i dont think is good because it is very defensive and lets opponent get their offensive position very easily) u cannot let ur opponent have whatever they want in the match and hope that ur bicep and pronation would be enough to stop the match and tire out the opponent, anyone with good technique and good power would rip through the match if u let them use whatever they want in the match....I believe denis should return to his old style(attacking with the side pressure even with somewhat compromised wrist) and fight in the setup, dont let opponent have whatever they want. This upcoming match with ermes if denis fights to get a fair grip and then attacks ermes and only resort to the defense if he needs to then we will get a fair match and anybody can win. if denis does this usual thing where he is very casual about grip and lets ermes have his kinda grip the match is as good as over..john bzernk has also talked about this thing

@@vikasmallick8041 non taken brother , so you just confirmed what I've said , if 5% is huge gap then 15% is a major huge gap which by the way if we're comparing lifts then a seated curl by no means more strict than standing curls because denis who hold the world's record in strict curl maxed a 113 kg strict curl to which you said he can do 120 kg seated curls , and for the other stuff i 💯 agree with you about the style , setup , my favorites are denis and ermes and i think denis taking this match mistake because i think it will be a slaughter house for denis if he don't change his style and training

@@mikhaelgarious5432 actually i think that u misunderstood the part about seated and standing curl part...strict curl is a totally different beast all together because ur back is set against the wall and there is no cheating allowed...but if there are no rules like back against the wall in strict curl u can cheat a lot more while standing...u can swing more of ur body, bring ur back and legs into play a lot more...while when u are sitting down u cant swing that much and legs are also not as heavily involved... There is one thing positive for denis that i got from the devon match...and that is even when denis didnt had the hand control and any sort of control over the match...devon was struggling hard to pin denis...there is a sticking point where denis can be and its very hard to finish him because of his back pressure and bicep strength...if denis has learned from his mistake and he fights in the setup and gets a fair grip than its going to be a war...my favourite arm wrestler is devon, john, ermes

I think Ermes's style will be the problem for Denis which is the aggressive toproll. If Denis still on defensive mode for start like before will not able to beat Ermes.... Most important is to change his training ways.

Denis is needed in strength, clear attacking power he had before. He has to restore his kingmove. Endurance is not working if you are not able to handle center point.

Its very easy to demean your opponent when you know that he is no way closer to his monsterous previous form and you are at your all time peak.. We know Devon how you change your opinion in every passing month so your opinion doesn't matter on if Denis could beat your present best version of all time..anyday he would beat you.. But I am very satisfied with your answer of Ermes beating Denis easily though I am a huge fan of both so whoever wins its a win win situation for us but now after hearing this from you we can expect from Denis to put on hell of a fight against Ermes because all of your predictions go against your opinion Devon😂

Denis in his 2018 state wouldn't take but brake current Devons arm. Devon is delusional. Denis was so much stronger/bigger back then+ in his good competitive condition/form unlike now... C'mon Devon. You are not that much stronger and You looked like a teen boy compered to Denis then. Denis at that time - Unbeatable!

That part when he said he would have probably pin Denis on the right hand 2018 lol... That moment I was like " ok, he is full of crap" cause they pulled right handed and Devon obviously forgot when Denis pulled him over the table. Denis was not even close to his 2018 shape and thats was so fuckin obvious...he could barely walk, his arms were like 10 cm smaller, he came form a bad illnes and sudenly he doesnt know how to train and shit... Man i whish if only that guy that curled 170 kg for reps would return

That depends on whether you think there's a ceiling to the top guys' strength level. Devon in his current shape seems to beat everyone except for Levan. Do you think the super heavyweight field has gotten stronger overall since Denis' reign?

Denis will not beat Devon now,not yet,but soon,after he will destroy without a doubt Ermes,he has no chance,is more than 3 months left,and even now,he is a monster,i think,after that,Denis will want a rematch with Devon,in october,november,we will see another Denis from the first time,we will see very close to his prime or even better,fighting with Devon was too soon,few months after John,and Denis trained 2,3 months,he said that after John match,he relaxed few months,but now is different situation,can't wait to see in june

I love Denis but you have to be real, he is going to lose hard against Ermes, Ermes is very explosive and will take Denis' wrist. Ermes also has a stupid strong press. This is a terrible matchup for Denis who attempts to dadmove all his opponents.
