As an old fart, audiophile I have only admiration and respect for the OJAS story. The future of the audiophiles and us the 1% of OCD enthusiasts is safe. This man also reaffirms what I already new, and that is old well designed vintage hifi gear is and always will be hard to beat for sound quality. It reminds me a bit of Oswald’s Mill Audio but only more affordable. Great interview Ken, keep up the good work.

Devon seems just like a really humble and down to earth guy. Really like his designs from a aesthetic point of view too. Never heard one of them sadly!

I am on the same page as far as interests in audio. Tube Broadcast grade & 1950s studio recording gear plus the Industrial design aesthetic from the 40s-50s. I love that he uses classic well established benchmark company’s for wire, jacks, parts brands that are made for the actual broadcast world. For me it was the vintage electronic surplus and the Japanese vintage HiFi that got me crazy for it. My designs in the tube guitar amp world is this line of thinking! Anyway so great to see you interview a person getting the next generation into this very secret world of audio.

This is a very cool project, Ken! I love getting to spend time with “deep geeks,” people who go way into a single area that fascinates them. My own mind drags me down many different alleys. Sailing, motorsports, freshwater aquaria, music, movies, science fiction, literature, art, audio gear, and many different gardening specialties are just a few that come to mind at the moment. I look forward to the next part of this interview, and hope that you will stay in touch with Devon, and take us with you in that process, in the future!

What’s up brother? This guy’s around my age and this is a cool project. I’m also into tube amps and motorcycles and wooden boats and old chairs and books and it’s really cool to see nerds deep diving into this stuff and combining their love of everything esoteri, but not so precious.

When I first went to Public Records. I knew the system would be very special. I was the only one geeking out. People just didn’t get it. Though no one complained of the sound quality.

Have the kit speaker (without horn mod... yet) and just finished building it. First impressions are really good. Very involving and 3d sounding. Lovely speaker! Anybody else here with some ojas speakers?

you need over 1000Volts to run it "wooooow" well yes it is a lot, but an ordinary KT88 runs with 850Volts so it can also kill you on the spot ;-)

Hype at it’s greatest… the Ojas bookshelf was an off the shelf JBL 328c in a birtch ported cabinet. It even used the 328c’s stock crossover.
