Interesting yet so similar to how so many hi-end companies start. Thanks for sharing humble beginnings and journey with us. I too used two 6in Vifa drivers with a Vifa D25AG tweeter in a d’appoito design that could be purchased as a kit or made up by a company called JayCar hear in Australia back in the late 1980/90’s. They still sound great although they where upgraded with a better crossover and a slight mods the the original cabinet design with ports moved from rear to front, thicker high density MDF and extra internal bracing. I’m still hoping to win lotto so I purchase some 0/96’s or your reference speakers.

Most enjoyable video on the evolution of your interesting company and speaker design. Would you consider a video on your experience with the vexing topic of cables? In particular speaker cable and analogue interconnects - an area of great mystique, misinformation and marketing hype. I look forward to your next down to earth insightful video!

Love these videos! Really great! Would also love to here more about what your speaker philosophy is? Why you chose the solutions you have chosen? How you implement them, and how you go about refining your speakers to a final product. Thanks!

John, could you please make a video about the evolution of your speaker designs. I currently own a pair of Gibbon 88 that I bought used in Chile, and am extremely satisfied with their sound and look. I am very curious about the Gibbon X and wonder what they bring beyond. Thank you

Your story demonstrates that passion beats everything. If you wanna do something you just do it. And of course luck has its part... And my luck I mean the encounter with your cabinet maker.

I was interested in your O/93’s and then I heard about Audio Note AN-E’s. Can you give us a video detailing some information and recommendations on best component compatibility and speaker placement with your O/93 speakers? Thanks in advance!

I wonder if vifa or whatever they call themselves now, are any better now, than they were at the time you had to discontinue that line of speakers.

Great story. Do you sell your cat the shirts. I'm a big fan of black cats.

We don't sell our cats, but we do sell our t shirts. We only have limited sizes left of the one in the video. Medium, small and possibly XXL.

You’re just one of the coolest guy in audio. Your love for music is inspiring. I live in Portugal and have never came close to hear your speakers, unfortunately. However, I am sure they must sound as good as they look. Thank you very much, I am always looking forward to your next video.

Are you trained in electrical engineering? If not, how does someone who isn't an engineer by training get to be a respected speaker designer?
@DeVOREFIDELITY4 жыл бұрын
Time and effort. I started building in the 1980's, and read everything I could find. Decades of experimenting, dissecting other designs, talking to designers I respected...

2000 dollars for those ? with pretty cheap vifa units ? thats crazy ! i better start building speakers instead of repairing vintage audio and RtR machines !!!
