I remember these E7s, F7s GP7s and SD7s, all were in use during the same time era. I have put a lot of miles on these during my years with Santa Fe Railway, great memories.

Perfect Music to go along with the awesome pics! Runaway Train is one of my favorite movies. Perfect line up of engines. Gotta love the old E&F units. My brother and I arranged a Penn Central E-Unit passenger train quit trip when in boy scouts way back in the very early 70's. Remember it like it was yesterday.

EMD's F- series was a beauty of American design and engineering that marked the end of the steam era. It was beautiful, somewhat powerful (for the time), its lines were futuristic, a great product that is recognizable all over America and Canada, Thank you for the video, Ciao, L

Wow! I really like this! Some treasured photos. I'm from Atlanta, Georgia and there's one here of two E7's -Seaboard Air Line and Seaboard Coast Line, at long gone Atlanta Terminal Station downtown. Photos of this terminal are extremely rare, especially trackside views. Would give anything to see more. They've yelled down here ever since this Spanish Mission-styled treasure was wrecked in 1972.

@howardkevinm The silver IC unit is one of two business train engines (100 & 101) for the CN. They, along with several like-color passenger cars, make up the CN business train. It is currently housed in Homewood, IL, south of Chicago. You are correct that this color scheme was never used in IC passenger operations, only for the business train.

I am an unashamed railroad nut, and the E7 was and is my favorite locomotive. As for the pictures, the E7 was an old locomotive, and any moving pictures would be on movie film instead of video. You have some outstanding pictures in your video. You did a very good job putting this together. And the music does fit your video. Only the last -- I love Mitch Miller, but the "Yellow Rose of Texas??" I much prefer "This Old Man!"

Modern trail designers (coughF40cough) should take a look at these old trains. And weep for the fact that they are 20 times as beautiful and enduring. I mean, what better way to keep passengers and improve public awareness than by building the locomotive equivalent of toasters. At least modern road switchers and freights have some character, if not exactly beautiful.
