DEWALT 20V MAX 1 1/2" Cordless Pruner Kit - acmetools.pxf....
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The DeWalt 1-1/2 Inch cordless pruner has a compact and lightweight construction that helps the tool move easily through branches. This pruner is operated by a 20 Volt motor that delivers up to 1100 cuts on a single charge with a 1-1/2 inch cutting capacity on thick stems and shrubs. Onboard LED lights brighten up the workspace in dark conditions. Coated, non-stick blades of the pruner ensure a smooth operation and the change tool helps in easy changing of the blade.

This is an excellent tool, probably my most used gardening tool. I’ve had it since it was first introduced - only maintenance has been to touch up the blade occasionally. Plenty of power, never gets tired, and runs forever on a 5 Ah PowerStack battery.

I have this and do a lot of yard maintenance each week with it, for about 4 months now. Absolutely beast and it's a favorite. I got it in hopes of replacing the use of loopers and a chainsaw for cutting what I need to into smaller pieces to fit into our city trash bins. It's saved me so much effort. I've cut well above it's rated diameter. I was worried as it was brushed but figured the same, that it was needed for the torque and hasn't been an issue. I use it with the 1.7 powerstack, compact and lightweight setup. Thought the handle was designed in an odd angle and shape but i've been proven wrong, it's very ergonomic.

It's the best pruning tool I've ever used. The battery life has been excellent. I'm a professional landscaper and have done complete hedge renovations on one charge. It is excellent for pruning crape myrtles. It will take a couple of cycles on larger diameter limbs of harder wood, but it's never not completed the cut. It's a beast on cutting vines from around bushes, especially ivy. Highly recommend this tool if you do a lot of pruning!

I always carry mine by the guard. It’s balanced very well carrying it that way. If you’re cutting something thicker, make sure that the branch is up against the bottom jaw. It cuts much better that way.

The reason you're having trouble with some of the larger limbs is because you're putting the movable blade against the wood surface. If you put the fixed blade against the wood and then pull the trigger, you'll get better results.

I honestly think, for the cost, having this tool is pointless if you have a decent set of secateurs, as they do the same job in the same time. Or, if you already have Dewalt tools including a reciprocating saw, you could just use this

I think this would also be great for people with one of those electric chippers that can only handle 1 1/2 inch branches, if this tool doesn't cut it in one pass, the branch is too big.

Not to be gross, but your bones are harder than the wood and it would take some work to amputate your own finger. I've hit hard objects in the ground and it just stops, it's not a high horsepower tool. But then again, some people shouldn't use this tool. 😉😉

So, the battery lasts sort of proportionally to the sharpness of the blade, so keeping that blade sharp is key to 1100 cuts. First day I used it I cut continually for 4 hrs before the battery quit. I crawled back to the house that night but my 73 year old hand and arm were fine. Thanks to the fact it was less sharp the next few days, I was not so beat up when it was done. Been using the dulled blades on those in-the-dirt cuts on my berry bushes. Bought a backup blade with the initial purchase. I doubt I will ever use it. The blade is very easy to sharpen.

Mine worked great for 3 days. Then the trigger started sticking and jaws closed, but did not open again. I could tap it at first to free the trigger and blades, but within a few minutes, it just quit working altogether. I bought a second one, thinking the problem was an anomaly. The new one lasted two weeks, and the same thing happened again. The trigger gets stuck, the jaws stay closed. And I need to return both and find a different brand. It's a shame. This was a great tool, but only while it worked.
