Hey Brian. Thanks for the review. I've been using this saw on a near daily basis as a professional remodeler / contractor and although it does have a few minor quirks on occasion such as the vac adapter & allen key for blade changes needing to be better secured or stored separately to avoid losing. I've found it to be an incredibly versatile tool to have on the job site. I refer to it as my trim saw & it is perfect for flooring rips & fitment cuts. It's quick, lightweight & easy to use for accurate cuts in a multitude of materials. It's pretty much, my go to circ. saw on most of our remodeling projects. it takes care of about 80-90% of the tasks we use a circular saw for every week. It performs well and is a quicker & easier to alternative to my DCS577 Flexvolt for most applications, especially for the less experienced guys. Plus, you just can't beat the accuracy & great line of sight you get from using a blade-left saw. Couple of tips- for best performance when cutting any kind of wood, I use the DIablo 4 3/8" 36T Carbide finish blade. Super fast & pristine cuts, with Zero Tearout (night & day difference to stock blade). #2. You can actually get Turbo Diamond blades with 3/8" arbor or use an adapter from amazon etc. (3/8-5/8"). WIth the right diamond blade, it is actually capable of performing clean (dry) cuts in tile, Quartz or even 2cm stone on occasion. #3. The factory blade or 60T HSS blades will also work well for cutting the newer types of shower waterproofing panels, kerdi, schluter, Wedi Etc. Even Cement backer board on occasion with the 60T. Thanks for all your hard work, honest reviews & fantastic content!! Especially your dedication to producing high quality, entertaining & informative content right now, with such limited resources. It's most appreciated!!👍👍👍 Keep up the great work, you just earned another subscriber!

Been a plumbing apprentice for a year now and bought one of these because we cut lumber for backing all the time. A sawzall was too much work and inaccurate. A normal circle saw seemed overkill. This was the perfect middle. Perfect for pocket cuts and patching holes in floors. Tool is awesome.

I purchased this saw on June 27th 2024, as a kit. I read the manual and came across the the dust collection section, turns out that the manual reads that the kit comes with a dust collector bag. I called Dewalt and, sure enough, they mailed me out a bag to use with this particular saw. If you purchase the kit version be sure to read your manual to see if it says that a dust bag should be supplied....🤗🤗🤗

I didnt need it, but I bought this saw to have a new gadget. I love it! It is always in my truck right next to my Dewalt 60 volt 7 1/4". The only downsides are yes, loosing the allen tool, wish it would cut just 1/8" deeper, the screws leaves gowges in the rip guide, and its left handed. Not a fan of left handed, but on occasion that characteristic comes in handy. Besides for that, I love it. Its rips fantastically, lets me get into tighter spaces, and actually has a bit of power for its size.

These little circular saws are actually very handy. Making a quick cut or two is easy. I find it to be less intimating than a 7 1/4" saw so it would be good for those people that are timid with larger tools.

Actually, I wasn't surprised that the dust collection port operated well. With the vacuum on, the port is held in place by suction. If there was a manual lock on it, and someone tripped over the vacuum hose, it could pull the saw from the operator's hand and cut them. That's the reason Apple created MAGLOCK for their laptops.

I don’t think it needs anything but the entry level batteries for most jobs. Hi Brian, This is a cool cordless trim saw. It would have worked great on a exterior window project i was working on. I had to cut the bevel siding that butt up to the window frame.Then i added 1 x 4 casing around the windows. Also some of the windows were in the second story. At the time i purchased a Dremel corded trim saw with a 3 1/2 inch blade. The problem with the dremel was i had to have a extension cord and stretch to second story. This DeWalt cordless would work great for those types of projects. Now i would put a solid cap around the dust extractor so it can come out from the bottom of the blade guard. Don't really need a vacuum working outside or working two story high, LOL... I might look into this tool. Also at home depot they do carry the diablo blades for this saw. For some reason they place them on the corner of the tool rack. I quess it's small enough to stack and people to see them. Thanks for the video

You shouldn't need a special adapter or DeWalt vacuum/extractor for dust collection with tools that use the Quick Connector so long as your shop vac hose is 1-1/4". Remove the nub from the end of the hose, pick up the DeWalt DWV9000 and thread it on to the bare end of that hose. I've done that with the old hose from a scrapped shop vac and now have two hoses for my working shop vac - one for regular use and one for DeWalt dust collection.

You can watch our drill battery test video and it will show the voltage levels that each battery could hold, from 2ah and up. IMHO, this is a great saw with a 5Ah battery and might be with an 8. But if I need an 8Ah battery for this saw for power, I would pull out my 6-1/2".
@cRawley662 жыл бұрын
Hey Jimmy, just thought I'd say that the reason higher capacity batteries deliver more power (when fully charged) is because when you drive current out of a battery, there is an associated voltage drop that occurs (Ohms law). The bigger the battery, the less significant that voltage drop is, assuming the current delivered is the same. So you maintain a higher voltage, and thus a higher power. Theoretically, with enough amp hours in your battery, that voltage drop becomes negligible. If you're lightly using the tool, it could pull more current from the battery to make up for the voltage drop, thus keeping your power constant. However, if you're maxing out the tool performance, and it has hit the max current it is designed to pull, any voltage drop that occurs will lower your power. That's where the big batteries help: on high demand activities. On light use, you may not notice a difference. Hope that helps!
