Dewalt Atomic Gen2 vs Dewalt XR Impact Driver with PowerStack STAFDA 2021

Tested out the new Dewalt Gen2 DCF850 Impact Driver against the Dewalt DCF887 Impact Driver with the new powerstack 1.7ah battery. It tested out both powerful and fast.
Powerstack batteries will be available in December 2021. These tools and batteries were on display at the Dewalt Total Trade solution booth at STAFDA 2021.

That information I don’t know as I only had hands on time during the demos. When powerstack is available in December and I get a chance to purchase some I’ll know more.

Same here, the 887 is actually a hair lighter and feels more balanced in my hands. same specs on both. ive tried the DCF840 as well, its faster than the 850 and the 887, but no modes. 887 still good a very good impact to me, just feels great in my hands, while working and plenty of power.

They keep making these things smaller and smaller bringing our hands closer to the working surface and harm. I still prefer to have some space of the longer bigger tool

You can use 3” bits or a bit holder with an extension to move the fastener and surface further from your hand. I personally prefer using 3” bits

Dewalt 840 is lowes dewalt atomic version 150 dollar bundle kit and the 840 is stronger and faster then bolth

They should try it on all speeds, probably they will be different results.

Didn’t have time to test all that but if I get one in hand I may take a look. However, most people seem to run them on the top speed or one down.

Milwaukee is the way to go! Samee price basically and all of their drill or impacts have bigger torque!!! I compared them all trust me! I got all of the Milwaukee drills and many impacts! Was debating between dewalt and Milwaukee and basically chose to go with Milwaukee due to stronger torque

Is this motor technology, or yet another battery format that will be abandoned LONG before the tools are junk. I'm sick of 400 battery types and interfaces, throwing away good tools because the batteries are not supported.

powerstack batteries are compatible with all dewalt 20v max tools

Not to mention, the new DeWalt batteries work on the MAC power tool line and the Klein power tool line.
