Instead of turning the outside clockwise, hold the part you turned, then turn bottom part counter clock wise. Alot easier and u don't have to keep untangling the string as it feeds in.

About a year ago I did the same search including the Dewalt website as well as all of KZbin at that time and I could not find a single video that appropriately showed how to restring this weed eater. I did finally find one that relatively came close and I use their technique, which wasn’t nearly as effective as yours. Are used it after restraining it just a few minutes ago and it works so much better than anything else I have seen! Kudos to you. THANK YOU!

For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. kzbin.infoUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself.Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.

Thank you Beau. I loved this weedeater until it ran out of string. I, like you, looked everywhere for how to restring it. I ended up hiring a yard service to just do my weed eating, thinking I would figure it out one day and eventually gave up. Now that you’ve shown me how to restring it, it has to be the easiest weedeater I’ve ever owned from a restringing perspective. I assume those down votes you got for this video or from a competitor of Dewalt. Please ignore them. My wife thanks you, as do I :-)

U don’t need to take the cap off, it works exactly like a echo speedfeed head (looks like it’s the same too). Just have to line the eyelets up with the center piece to where u c light in the eyelets, put the string in midway, and twist either the body or top piece of the head.

The only reason to remove the cover is to deal with a tangle on the inside. If you've run all the string out, you can easily locate the through hole by aligning the feed holes in the head with the two arrow shaped notches on the ratchet ring (assuming they haven't been ground off somehow). Leaving the cover on give you more to grab as you ratchet the new string in :)

I have plenty of line but it won’t come out when I tap it on ground. Any suggestions?
@samsnow73705 жыл бұрын
sometimes the lines cross over each other. First make sure that you had whined the line clockwise together (I'm not sure if it is an option as the wheel spins in one direction freely(?) and you have no choice but to spin the wheel counter clockwise). If you indeed had whined the line clockwise then pull the line out and redo neatly. Mine worked; tap and the reel will let loose some line. Good luck.
