DeWalt D27300 Planer Thicknesser Blade Sharpening with Tormek SVH-320 and DC-250 Diamond Wheel

This video shows the sharpening and adjustment of the Dewalt D27300 Planer / Jointer Thicknesser. The blades have a deep nick after running over a nail in the timber.
The blade sharpening at 42° is done with the Tormek T-8 wet grinding system and the SV-320 blade sharpening tool. In order to grind the very hard HSS blades the DC-250 Diamond Wheel Coarse is used.
After grinding, polishing and honing the blades are put back into the planer thicknesser. The DeWalt adjusment tool is used for proper alignment of the blades in the roller. Then some tests are performed to find out how the tool is performing with the freshly sharpened blades.

Are you referring to the indeed and outfield tables of the thicknesser? In what way are these tables off?

@@OutdoorsintheLowCountries I’m referring to infeed and outfeed tables of the planer. I.e. right side of the infeed table is higher than the left side. Both tables are not parallel to each other

@@jaspernorth Did you try to adjust the planer height setting knob? (see kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmbYmpZ9YqZ8gqM at 5:20) This determines the planer depth which in principle is the offset between infeed and blades / outfield table of the planer (when properly adjusted).

@@jaspernorth I also have this issue and noticed it when planing wood, it takes too much from one side. However, with the straightedge that i have, there seems to be no left to right tilting of the infeed table. I will have to look into this more carefully. My guess is that it can be adjusted with the bolts carrying the plate on the side of the body.

@@nisamja7424 Hi Buddy, yes, I have managed to level the infeed table based on the position of outfeed table using the screws on the side of the body of the machine. Now I face the problem of large snipe on the end of the board that I am plaining. I guess I need to work on blade positioning. Anyway, it is not easy to adjust!

hej outdoor, ik zie dat je hout er nu wel goed doorheen gaat zonder dat je het hoeft te duwen. Komt dat door dat de messen weer scherp zijn? bij mij deed het eerst prima maar nu moet ik het ook duwen met best wat kracht. mvg
