In this video we compare the Dewalt DCD999 vs the Bosch GSB18V-1330CN and do a side-by-side drill comparison. We already know from previous test that the powerstack does provide more power for demanding jobs vs Dewalts own batteries. However, what about the competition?
According to the stats from each manufacture, the Bosch is the more powerful drill when equipped with the CORE18V 8ah battery and is half the cost. The Bosch 1330CN is also capable of connecting to your phone to adjust settings for angles and allows you to turn the kickback control off. Judge the performance for yourself, however with my money I would buy the Bosch!

I’ve seen this Bosch go up against the freakishly strong M18 Milwaukee drills, and it held its own.

I've been using that Bosch now for a little over 6 months. The angle light is a gimmick, it isn't even close to 100% accurate and it isn't what I'd call active, once you get the drill to the set level it turns green, then goes out, it doesn't stay green or turn red if you go off angle. The Aux handle is NOT optional. The Kickback control is both a blessing and a pain the backside, does it work, yes, yes it does, however when you turn it off, it doesn't stay off, once you release the trigger it re-enables, which can be annoying if you are using the drill for something other than drilling a hole, such as a wire wheel or detailing brush, that said, I'd never buy another drill without it.

Thanks for sharing your experience using the drill. The angle setting hasn't really been something I use, however I have wondered how accurate it would be in a real-life application.

My understanding of the 999 here in the UK is that when armed with a flex volt battery the onboard electronics of the 999 recognise the battery type and draws more current from the cells. This allied with improved windings and magnets in the motor allow it to deliver significantly more grunt under load. May be worth borrowing a flex bat from a Dewalt agent to test this marketing blurb though. 👍🏾

I agree Bosch does make some great tools. I really like these CORE18V batteries as well. Thanks for watching.

Good comparison. Dewalt usually much cheaper as a bare tool. The 9ah flexvolt battery would be a more even match in this comparison. Bosh has much more technology and is a better tool overall.

I agree these new Bosch tools are impressive. I did a comparison with this Dewalt DCD999 using the powerstack 5ah vs the flexvot 6ah in a separate video. The powerstack did appear to have more power. I dont have the flexvolt 9ah, but I wouldn't think it would be that much more power than the 6ah flexvolt but I could be wrong. Unfortunately, I don't have one or I would do the test. Thanks for watching.

@@TeamDIYNow actually it will uave major difference, the 9ah has 21700 cells and the 6ah 18650 cells. Major power jump there, you should try!

@@michaela3330 wrong! The Dewalt 6Ah XR batteries have double row of high output 21700 T30 Samsung batteries. So does the 9Ah FlexVolt.

Since you have done a review on both. if you could only buy 1, what one would you choose? GBH18V-21? or gsb18v1330cn?
@TeamDIYNow
@TeamDIYNow 4 ай бұрын
They both have a time in place and really depends on application. The Bosch GBH18V-21 rotary hammer drill is handy for demo work (removing tile, etc) and drilling holes in hard materials like concrete. The Bosch GSB18V-1330CN hammer drill is a great all-around traditional drill. To answer your question, I would say most homeowners would probably be better suited with the regular hammer drill, but again really depends on your applications if you will be getting into any demo, etc. Hope this helps.

In my opinion a 12ah battery isn’t practical on a drill. With that said, even if I used a 12ah the outcome would have been the same.

Put a 6Ah XR battery on the Dewalt and it would smoke the Bosch. And the Power Detect 998 is more powerful than that FlexVolt Advantage. You put the smallest possible battery on the Dewalt, the Power Stacks are good batteries. But its been proven that the 6Ah XR and the 9Ah FlexVolt and 5Ah Powerstack have the smallest voltage drop so they put the most power to the tool. The Bosch is a nice tool, im not knocking it.

On paper the Bosch is the more powerful drill, so I used the most powerful Dewalt battery I own which is the powerstack 5ah. I also have a FV 6ah, however I already did a test with this DCD999 and the powerstack 5ah vs the FV 6ah and the powerstack definitely was more powerful. I have heard the 9ah FV has the newer cells, not sure if the XR 6 does as well.

6ah Flexvolt still use 18650 cells, 9ah use 21700 ! But is just equivalent of 5ah power stack. The bosh use 21700 on power core the drill is a monster
