…also, I pre-curl the paper, on the front side, for a tighter fit. If you do end up punching holes in the paper, note that it STRETCHES the paper, so I RE-INSERT the paper in the back end. I try to keep the paper as tight as I can.

If you have any question let me know. Great sander.

If you need a power sander for sanding joint compound, then you’re applying TOO MUCH joint compound. The only time I have ever used a palm sander on drywall is when SOMEONE ELSE applied too much joint compound. The dust it creates is unreal.

Hi KC. I agree - I really showed drywall to test the sander and in real life the main use would be as you described to knock down painted wall tumors that someone else created. I also connect the dust extraction to my vac to help minimize the dust when doing this kind of work. I have also found the power sander with a fine grit really useful when doing Level 5 finishes on walls. The smaller sander is great to hit the corners and some edges fast where it is hard to get to with the drywall sander. In that situation dust extraction is helpful, but in reality you are sealing off the room anyway. This is more of a special application.

How do you remove the dust Shute to install the longer one..
@SoWeBoughtaHouse Жыл бұрын
It twists off really easy. The longer chute is a connector for dust extraction. Desalt doesn’t make this easy to figure out so I have another video showing that. m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKOkZ4iQqdV9eJI&pp=ygUPVGhlIGRld2FsdCBjb2Rl Let me know if that answers your question. If you need anything else let me know.

Right now, lowes has this for $99 and a free reciprocating saw (not the brushless xr).
@SoWeBoughtaHouse3 жыл бұрын
I highly recommend the XR over the regular, but a free tool still does work. That is a good package. I use my reciprocating saw for lots of stuff. I did once get a a free impact wrench in a kit though that was almost useless from DeWalt. It torques out before it can even drive a screw into a board. I mostly just use it now when building stuff with pocket screws that have already been predrilled.

Thanks for the video, I suggest removing the battery when changing the sandpaper to avoid accidentally flipping that switch while your hands are on it.

Not a bad idea. I work with corded ones all day and never unplug them,. Probably just my bad habit.

Nice video...but you should wear a mask and eye protection when doing inside work especially when you are sanding spackle ..
@SoWeBoughtaHouse Жыл бұрын
Thanks Joseph. I should mention it better in the videos. I used to show all the protection I wore when actually doing work but stopped. When recording these short bits I have to take it off to talk to the camera. I’ll do a better job of saying this is not right and I’m only showing an example.

You have a vacuum hooked up to the ceiling sanding but you don't have a vacuum for the floor sanding. Are you assuming the dust collection is the same with and without the vacuum.
@SoWeBoughtaHouse3 жыл бұрын
The dust collection would be and was better with the vacuum hooked to the sander. The only issue was the vacuum hose was leaving marks on the floor as were the wheels and the rest of the floor was already sanded. I didn't want to mark it all up. The dust from the drywall working upside down was really the torture test. Sanding straight down like a the floor was no issue, it worked great. Sorry for the confusion.
