Dewalt mudshot, full speed, 10’ hand taped angles coated. Best angle tool on market!

I just bought this tool and it’s a huge improvement vs the mud tube with inside applicator/flushers I was using before. I am using tape tech heads and I’m annoyed how loose my angleheads are on my mudshots ball point. I can spin that thing around fast in a circle like a fidget spinner and it’s always flopping around causing a mess as islets much harder to maneuver on the wall. I notice your head doesn’t flap loosely like mine and is just the right amount of tension like my old flusher/pole combo. What angle heads are you using I think I may need a different angle head. Should of got the dewalt ones 😂 I just figured the tapetech ones would work well because I love there boxes

Sorry for late reply. I use northstar angle heads. I am not sore how old your angle heads are, but it seems they may have been used a lot and are just over worn. New heads will still spin but not as fast as a fidget spinner.

Ive seen guys wipe angles with the mud shot and add a bit of mud if you need too great idea

Do you glaze with a 2.5 or 3 angle head? I honestly prefer to wipe tapes with flusher i can keep 3 ways much cleaner for the helpers to pick out with angle head it rips tapes or leaves big blobs in corners and they always leave big wrinkles in corners but mud shot is the next tool on the list then a cordless mixing drill as we never have power on these builder specials

So I glaze with a 2.5 and run the mud shot with a 3.5 both Northstar heads the secret to not wrinkling the tape is rolling, the angle tight with the roller give a little extra pressure to push the mud out, then you’ll have no problems as long as your tape is not cut too long.

I am in Pa. Don’t advertise my prices but I pay well to the few people I can find that do quality work.

@@manwithapan ....lots of Hispanics have moved in this area....they do sub-par work but it's cheaper than I was charging 15 years ago. I mainly do repairs, remodels, room additions and custom work these days. Can't compete on the larger jobs.

Do you have any cracks in the clear plastic cylinder? Mine had little cracks all around the top collar when i received it.

No, I haven’t had any cracks. I was able to check this one out at East Coast Drywall before I bought it. I was fortunate enough to work with Scott Murray on this tool 5 years ago. I had the first prototype ever. From there I have some info that helped improve its quality. The first one didn’t have enough pressure so a stronger piston was installed in handle. Then more clamps were added to top and bottom of cylinder, then the adjustment for the flow of mud. You can reach out to level 5 tools and they will probably send you another cylinder.

Yeah, Scott the owner and Robby Deathridge his repair guy flew to Va where I was at the time and spent a few days with me. We went over their bazookas and talked about designing this type of tool as the mudrunner put a lot of pressure on a persons forearm. So then came the prototype. They sent it to me and I tested it out and gave them feedback and they changed it for the better. Level 5 is a good company and stand by their products. They are great for finishers just getting into the machines as they are reasonably priced.

How many coats of mud do you put on your angles?

Thanks for the question! So after I tape and glaze them. I go around and get the goobers off. Then I run mudshot after I second coat all the flats butts and beads.

1 coat over glazed angles. I pick the corners/3 ways 2 times.

run it behind you like you would do with corner box , not in-front of you , then you can run faster with it and have no judder bro , thank me later..lol , you are pushing it along the board , better to drag it as you run

Thanks for the input! I’ve tried it both ways and I prefer to go forward with it. I used it this morning on 150 Board house and did it in 2.5 hours. That’s fast enough for me.

Just got my mini shot the level 5 version it's red . And I like to follow it same as with a compound tube this is just souch better
