I have the 50" l x 48"h x 18" d ....laminate racks, holds 1500lb per shelf. I have 2 units stacked high (8')then the bench seat across to the other two racks stack high (8')...two shelves across the top over the seat...that's 150" upper storage....plus two 8' high racks of storage...some guys put a shelf across as a desk instead of the padded seat ...I have the same matching swivel stool...love it... These racks are easy to adjust and take a beating,very strong...a cheap rack would cost 70-80$ anyway....across the garage on the other side is Milwaukee red... Love the channel 👍,great video!

Just finished assembling the 4' unit in my blacksmith shop. Overall, it's very solid construction and I don't see how anyone could possibly overload them. I'm a blacksmith and most everything in my shop is heavy.... and I'm not going to get anywhere near the limit of these things. The finish is very nice. The yellow is bright, but at least you don't have to worry about bumping in to the thing in the dark! The downside--- Straight from Home Depot, box fully intact, and several of the threaded straps are missing. Everything was packaged excellently, so it's hard to imagine how they could get it wrong at the factory. Instead of the 6 threaded straps, I received 4. And instead of the 9 shelf support straps, I received 10. While I was able to get the whole thing together, I thought it was a thorough pain in the butt that they designed the threaded straps so the bolts entered from the underside. And those clips that hold the wire shelving in place?!?! What a joke! Try as I might, I couldn't get but one per shelf to actually clip on. The gap they have to spread to is huge and I found my screwdriver handle was always hitting the shelf long before I got enough spread to clip anything together. I'll try again later on this evening when I'm not so pissed. Maybe a longer screwdriver would get the job done, so I'll have to see if I have one that's long enough, but not too large at the bit so it'll still fit into the space on the clips. Overall, 1.5 thumbs up. Screwing up the packaging so I didn't get all the right parts has seriously compromised the structural integrity of the finished product. While I've likely lost 500lbs of capacity, at least I don't have to worry that I was every going to get near that weight limit! If it wasn't for the clips, I'd be entirely satisfied with the purchase. But.... all that said, they shelf is doing exactly what I wanted and the shop looks a little bit cleaner and better organized now.

Looks pretty much like standard rivet shelving for which you can buy the pieces ala cart and construct whatever size you want. Prices are a lot less than the DeWalt units. With rivet shelving you also have your choice of metal, wire or wood shelf decks (I just bought the frames and supplied my own decking to reduce the cost even more). Rivet shelving is available in multiple widths from 48" to 96" and shelf depths of 18" to 48".
@WorkshopAddict6 жыл бұрын
This is 100 times stronger and easier to assemble than any rivet shelving I have seen.

Yeah, that larger shelf unit is probably closer to what pallet shelving offers.

@@WorkshopAddict These Dewalt shelves are basically a proprietary, non-welded version of a Quick-rack/Bulk rack type shelving like those available www.materialflow.com/c/Rack-Systems/Bulk-Racks
@ronh93846 жыл бұрын
Cool shelving. Very similar to the Edsal brand I bought at Lowes3-4 years ago and the Husky Brand at Home Depot this year with the same wire rack shelving and load ratings. The larger DEWALT is more expensive but has more features such as clips and foot pads. The Edsal and Husky brands don’t come with foot pads. I made pads of some left over Trek decking. I also cut some Oiled hard board to fit the wire shelving to prevent anything falling through and zip tied it it place. Where did you buy the DEWALT shelving?

Glad you showed how easy adjusting heights is with this model. I was also curious about whether the 6' model could be assembled sideways like the Huskey steel shelves. Apparently, not. But your video swayed me in favor of the Dewalt over he Huskey. I appreciate your efforts WorkshopAddict

It cannot go sideways. I think you are making a good choice with these over the Husky models.

The Home Depot sells the Husky Black 4-Tier Heavy Duty Industrial Welded Steel Garage Shelving Unit (77 in. W x 78 in. H x 24 in. D). It appears to be very similar overall. They sell individual shelves that look to fit this DEWALT system.

I searched for KZbin assembly instructions. Instructions with shelves are tiny print and poor illustrations. Overall good shelf. Fitting diagonal and horizontal support required wire brushing paint away to make it fit. Laminate shelf requires trimming one short side to fit into shelf. For $210, shouldn’t have to do that, but Mde in CHINA!
