Some really, really great ideas in here for storing everyday items. I love the false floor for the levels and track saw rails, but even some great use in the relatively low profile drawers, which is nice because you’re not sacrificing a lot of height inside, but gaining access to lots of little items that you don’t need to climb in and hunt around for. Really well done! I hadn’t even watched the whole video all the way through and was already blown away, and after continuing on, the great ideas just kept coming!l

Crazy they discontinued the tough draws but kept the tstak ones. I get that the tough system isn't as popular in UK and EU but for site work it's arguably better than tstak. Though the tstak has benefits in domestic settings. Great set up and really makes use of such a small van considering how many of us work out of medium class vans.
@ziggysrefurbs18853 жыл бұрын
I don't think they discontinued the toughsystem drawers. As far as I know they were bringing in a new version, the one currently on sale in the states but it didn't meet some stupid EU law so couldn't be sold here. Dumb I know. Both the toughsystem and tstack have their good and bad points but I went for them primarily because they are tough as hell and for the racking system. It works well with how I work being able to chop and change boxes depending on what I'm doing and being able to fold all the arms away and have a completely empty van if I need it. Thanks for watching mate.
@effervescence56643 жыл бұрын
@@ziggysrefurbs1885 Yeah I do like that the tough system has the racking arm transport system, my Tstaks are just set into the shelving with their legs. The new one in the states is the tough 2.0 from what I saw in Home Depot. I purely meant they were manufacturing them over here at one point and now they're discontinued, so you can only have them shipped over from us/canada now or buy second hand. I like the tstak purely from a space perspective when inside terraced houses though, doesn't take up quite as much room as tough/packout and I swapped over to a lot of drawers so I could just have a tower plonked in the corner as a base station to work out of.
@ziggysrefurbs18853 жыл бұрын
@@effervescence5664 I didn't realise they were made over here. It's frustrating that it costs £100+ for those drawers. Second hand here or imported in. I like seeing the dirt and grime in there... it says this is a working van, not just for display purposes 👍

Great video bro, I was laughing when you talk about personalize the battery lol
@ziggysrefurbs18853 жыл бұрын
Cheers mate. Tradesmen tend to get these stickers so they don't get mixed up with other people's batteries on site . I work alone so does that make me even more sad.🤷 Good job I really don't care. 🤣 Thanks for watching.

Awesome set up! I love the personalized battery stickers. How’d you do that??
@jonesconrad12 жыл бұрын
100% on Torx head screws. I started buying them accidentally, then really started to see the benefit especially with the impact driver.
@ziggysrefurbs18852 жыл бұрын
You're so right. Using torx head screws with a impact driver is so much better. Stripping out screws and bits drastically reduces when using torx.

Love it ocd is great 👍 did notice you had the dewalt hammer that rings every strike lol. I'm a roofer my dewalt hammer drives the boys mental when I'm battering in , its rings like a tunning fork, until dewalt make a titanium hammer its a keeper....love the van screw the house lol
@ziggysrefurbs18853 жыл бұрын
Cheers mate. Can't say I ever heard it ring like a tuning fork but I changed it recently for an estwing. Wanted a titanium vaughan but bloody out of stock everywhere. Plus I'm not sure if I can justify £150 for a hammer just yet. I will get round to finishing the house, one day, maybe.🤣

Absolutely love it ,my boss refuses to put racking in his van long wheel base sprinter so I've been slowly adding more and more tough system 2.0 boxes 🤣🤣🤣

Looks good. I was also a van guy until i ordered AWD EV and going to buy box van trailer which i can use to haul my tools. 2 advantages of that is i can leave trailer to worksite and drive a car that is much cheaper to use which means i earn more money.
@ziggysrefurbs18852 жыл бұрын
Ive seen a few videos of tradesmen using trailers to carry all their tools. I think the idea of that is great. At the start of a job tow you trailer to the site and leave it there until the job is finished. Unfortunately thats not a thing here in the UK. Being a smaller country, small roads and all too often having difficulty parking at some jobs it wouldn't be practical. Also unfortunately tool theft is a real problem at the moment so i feel better unloading the van everyday and locking away all my tools. Yes its a ball ache but its only another 10- 15 minutes to my day.

Amazing stuff mate! I'm heading out to work for myself next year and it just goes to show a transit connect can get pretty much everything. What happens if you need to haul around timber/plasterboard/lengths of pipe/trim? Cheers!
@ziggysrefurbs18853 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate. I try and get most of the materials I need delivered. When I do need to carry stuff my 4 bar roof rack is set up to carry 8×4 sheets. Obviously weather is a factor but I get by just fine. I can actually carry 3 metre lengths of trim and copper in the van ( just). The passenger seat folds down and there's a hatch through from the rear of the van. I know I could get a bigger van I just prefer a small one. Good luck in working for yourself. It is hard work but so much better being your own boss.

This is fuckin incredible. I get actual stomach pains when I see a messy van or truck. Catering racks are a great help for us, but they are pricey to get installed, but they can carry a ton of weight even when extended. Your setup is wicked nice
@ziggysrefurbs18853 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate. I'm with you there. I can never understand how some tradesmen/ women can work efficiently when their van is a shit hole. It drives me nuts.
