Doesnt matter what dewalt product I search on KZbin, I find a bunch of Milwaukee ot Makita fanboys trying to say how garbage dewalt tools are.... As a tradesman with many years in my industry, I've never used a more reliable hammer drill than my Dewalt's. I have many many 20v max, 60v flex cordless tools, I LOVE THEM.

Excellent video showcasing the function and many benefits of the DeWALT Tool Connect system. My family owned builders merchants store located in Buriram thailand will order the DeWALT Tool Connect from Stanley DeWALT Southeast Asia for our repair service technicians. Certainly a much needed tool management product suitable for Thailand home builders.

This feature works via bluetooth so be warned that this is completely useless when you are out of bluetooth range which we all know is quite limited. I hope Dewalt will only offer this as an option and not as a built-in feature in all their future power tools. I’m actually very disappointed at where Dewalt is going with this. I’m on a Dewalt platform and all my batteries and chargers are Dewalts. I have been using the Dewalt DCF899 impact wrench for automotive purposes and it did 99% of the job I used it for, but I find it too heavy for roadside use. Dewalt and Milwaukee then released their mid-range impact wrenches. Both were impressively light and both bragged about having 600 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque. After reading some reviews and watching some youtube take on the same tools, however, I found the Milwaukee mid-range impact wrench to be weak and the Dewalt’s even weaker. Then Makita released their latest mid-range wrench with 740 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque. It was very impressive. Milwaukee fought back by releasing a 2nd generation of their mid-range impact. It was equally impressive. I’m sure Milwaukee fans are very happy with the company’s response to the Makita offering. I thought I’ll just wait because I don’t beleive Dewalt would allow itself to be left behind on this. I thought Dewalt would later offer a 2nd generation of their mid-range (DCF894) impact wrench with torque ranges that would be at par with the torque numbers of both Makita and Milwaukee. To my surprise, Dewalt never did. They just took the 1st-gen DCF894, installed a bluetooth chip on it for its “Tool Connect” feature, then offer it on the market as the more expensive DCF896. I’m now stuck with my bulky and heavy DCF899 even for roadside use. It sucks! Same thing happened with their impact driver DCF887. Professionals would always use a regular drill for making holes but for homeowners who just want to DIY most of their works, an impact driver is preferred. This is especially true when using bits with larger diameters such as spade drill bits or speedbore (auger) bits because the impacting actions on the gears of an impact driver dampens all kickbacks that always happens in a regular drill when using larger bits. In other words, when using a larger bit, an impact driver is more wrist-friendly. The problem is there are two European youtube reviews where Dewalt’s top-of-the-line DCF887 overheated while in use. There are also three youtube reviews in the U.S. where it literally went up in smoke. Dewalt’s response? Instead of coming up with a new gen of impact driver with an improved heat-dissepation system in the engine, Dewalt took their DCF887, installed a bluetooth in it for its “Tool Connect” feature then offer it in the market as the more expensive DCF888. What Dewalt did here exactly is offer its fans a more expensive tool to smoke. When you are heavily invested on a Dewalt platform like me, it really sucks!

Bluetooth pretty much useless if some thieving toerag takes a liking to ur tools it's why an unlimited range gps tracker that's inside the power tool itself along with other anti theft features would increase the chance of property recovery
@Gollammeister
@Gollammeister 2 жыл бұрын
Someone just needs to create an internal GPS tracker that can be embedded inside any power tool and be tracked via pc smartphone etc now that would help catch the thieves and increase the chances of property going back to the rightful owner
@Gollammeister
@Gollammeister 2 жыл бұрын
What is needed is a GPS unlimited range that's inside the power tool itself with anti theft power circuit cut out to make power tools useless to scummy thieves that way when some thief swipes your pride n joy tools and then moves em miles away you can still track em and possibly recover your property

Come on Dewalt, I just purchased a 3/8" impact one key from milfukyee. Id prefer a Dewalt but you dont have the tools out with the features yet. Needed it for the programmable torque setting.

So I was testing the tracking device by sticking it in my daughters bookbag. It only shows it if it is in range of my phone. I was hoping I could find it if it's at least within a few miles away. It does have "ask community" option but I dont wanna waste others time if I'm just playing around with the device.

@ it really is a worthless item youre right. Even if you leave one at a jobsite on a stack of lumber, and the thieves dont know its attached to the lumber.. Odds are that no one for miles has this same device and app on their phone to help you locate it. You could try n hide it in a tool bag and if you know all the people on the job and suspect someone, u can sneak by their home n see if your phone sees it nearby, but thats a bit crazy.. Its a cool concept but it needs to be smaller, and needs a subscription of some kind to track it anywhere it goes which would cost way too much. OR Dewalt needs to team up with another tag company so more people can help you locate it.

I'm just finding this out. I don't think this is useful to me at all. I thought it was something you can track anywhere with GPS not Bluetooth.
