All great advice. Thanks Will

In northern Michigan we have Rec gas (non ethanol), we only use that. Most marinas carry it and keeps your system from gumming up over winter which is long up here!

I feel ya Northern indiana here and our boating season is only like 4 maybe 5 months

@@cruzzindodge we are lucky if we get 3 months, I mostly boat on the St. Marys River near Sault Ste. Marie, one day I will have a winter place in Florida and I want one of those Yamaha Jet boats.

I would add a couple notes about the trailer if that isn't covered in another video...50 psi on most boat trailer tires, grease your wheel bearings, and inspect your winch strap...

Good points.

Is there a certain way to trickle charge the batteries? (Example because boat batteries are not always connected together ). I have trickle chargers on my generators, UTV, and Tractor but all those only have one battery so it’s straightforward.. if you have e a video please shoot me a link.

@easttexasengineering3489 we don't, but since the batteries are connected I typically turn on the parallel switch and put the red charger clip on the positive terminal on battery one and I put the black charger clip on the negative terminal on battery 2. Works well for me.

I have a question regarding warranty I’m in the process of purchasing a 2022 252 fhs with 50hrs. Two questions 1. Is the hull still under warranty If yes is it transferable? To new owner. 2. Is the motors still under warranty if yes is it transferable? To new owner. Thank you.
@JetBoatPilot3 ай бұрын
@angelocostello4496 both stay with the hull. YES warranty must be transferred if an extended warranty was bought or must be refunded and re purchased. Not sure the procedure there.

For Yamaha boats... you forgot three pumps of grease for impeller bearing and (important for older Yamahas) make sure the scupper is in working condition! I also check the intake pump grate for missing silicone and replace if necessary. Use silicone based pool lube on your cleanout plug rubber for easy in and out, and add a little to the O-ring on the drain plug for a tight seal. Spray your trailer winch, jack, ball coupler, and cover ratchet straps ratchets with YamaLube. Check your trailer ratchet strap for any damage. Make sure your trailer tires are filled to max and rotate the in an X if it's a tandem. Don't forget to grease your trailer bearings!

Due to the frequency of DIY guys getting this step wrong I do not recommend it. And while it can be done, it really does not need to be done by someone who has not been trained. It can go wrong easily. We also don't add any sort of lubricants to the rubber on the clean out ports. If you do that it can absorb into the rubber and over time contribute to the swelling of the rubber. All good points on the trailer.

Can you make another loading/unloading from the trailer video with the new boat?
@JetBoatPilot5 ай бұрын
We're working on planning a solo launching video. Is that what you're looking for?
@RaginCajundogg5 ай бұрын
@@JetBoatPilot solo would be nice. Being new to yamaha boats in general, it would be nice to see an updates video on depth of trailer launching and retrieving as well as some tips on throttle usage during both.

@@RaginCajundogg We'll keep that in mind when we film.

Should the plug in the engine bay (along the bulkhead) be opened when on the water, or only after you return from using your boat. It appears to be where the water drains from the floor ski locker.
@JetBoatPilot6 ай бұрын
I'd leave it open so it can get out of the boat. The bilge will pump it out or it can get out of the drain plug when pulled.

@@JetBoatPilot Thank you. Also, thank you for the thrust vector video. I have them on order from JBP and look forward to installing on my new 2023 222SD.
