She is mostly sensitive because you don't use alcohol swaps. I don't want to tell you how to do it it's all up to you. Use alcohol first to desinfect the area, then use skinprep and when you remove the sensor use an clean alcohol swap to desinfect the area and use some skin lotion works great no dry skin and no allergic reactions other then that love you take care of your girl she is strong!
@the.dose.family3 жыл бұрын
I know everyones skin is different and i have tired a lot of different things from skin prep to tegadem and not using alcohol has really reduced skin rash . We just make sure that she fresh out of the shower or clean the site well with soap and water . Thank you we plan on making an updated video because we have changed a few things in our routine . Thank you for the comment .

@@the.dose.family I've been using skin-tag and works great the only problem I have is those horrible sensor errors so now and then. Uhhh but hey you got a tough girl and she will survive this. Keep up the work mommy 😁

@@the.dose.family I’ve heard in other videos that if you use something like SkinTac, it’s best to apply it to the sticky pad of the sensor rather than the skin itself. Apparently this is because when the needle goes in with the sensor “strip/wire” and goes through the skin, the SkinTac residue sometimes interferes with the strip and the readings... I’m very new to Dexcom and don’t know enough myself.. But I thought it’s interesting and it may help you too! :) Also, (not sure if this is why you use already actually) but I’ve seen on Amazon disinfecting wipes that do not contain alcohol made for those with delicate/dry skin. Maybe this can be useful too. :)

i am a type one diabetic and the bleed is very common/normal, so do expect it for about all dexcom changes. for all the new diabetic parents or children who do the dexcom and pdm expect some of the following of what i say. for the pdm, expect your child or yourself to feel a bit of pain from the pdm after inserting, also expect some blood on the side after a day or two. for the dexcom, it doesnt hurt nearly as much as the pdm, but like i said, the bleed is very common/normal so dont panic or anything. if u have any questions ask me and ill try to answer, i cant promise i can answer but i can try my hardest.

Normally when we get those they don't work. Had 5 bleeders in a row last month and they sent us 5 new sensors but it is a pain being on hold for each failed sensor. Also, we have learned to wait and put the pump peel/grif grip on after warm up. So many times the sensor fails during warm up and we have to rip off the new peel. So we wait. When sensors work they are great but the bleeders are frustrating
@danielbouchie63974 жыл бұрын
I just put my first one on and i can see it bleeding. You have to change it when it bleeds? I know nothing about it.
@xorkii4 жыл бұрын
@@danielbouchie6397 U dont have to but u can.. in Germany u get replacements for bleeders not sure if its the same in the US I personally had the best readings from bleeders tho so I dont change them
@the.dose.family3 жыл бұрын
Hi we have learned that the hard way two sensor fails after warm up and I put the overpatch right after insertion . Now i wait a full 24 hours then put the overmatch . But you don't have to replace it . After the first 24 hours if it is still inaccurate then I would replace it . But we usually leave the bleeders because usually they are the best readers . We live in the USA and they are pretty good at replacing sensors even bleeders . Thank you guys for your comment and we also do plan on making an updated video on our dexcom routine so please keep an eye out for that video

hi !! I'm sorry u got some bleeders but i keep them on when ever they bleed . and they seem to work fine . But what the dexcom rep said was to " tent " the skin a little . Meaning when ur applying the sensor tug on the skin a little and not push down when pushing the botton . Its worked for us and we haven't gotten a bleeder in a while i hope that helps .
