Superb summary of the differences. Fortunately here in Australia G6 is now funded but I now know what this is when it comes up. Thank you very much for taking the time to explain so clearly.

HI! I would like you to make a video in which you try a sensor, 10 days or as long as it lasts, on a healthy person, without diabetes. I don't think such a test has been done on KZbin until now. Or at least I don't know. But it would be very interesting to see how blood sugar fluctuates from morning to night and from night to morning in a healthy person. This would be a challenge even for a healthy person. Moreover, we could see the difference in how blood sugar fluctuates between a healthy person and a person with diabetes. Of course, from time to time, he should also do a blood glucose test, in order to see the difference between the sensors and the test, both in the person with diabetes and in the healthy person. If you could also make some comparative graphs for the 10-day period of a sensor, that would be perfect. I hope you take my suggestion into account. and, in case you want to put this idea into practice, I wish you success.

What also needs to be taken into account is a fast-growing market demand in the health and fitness sector. I met someone the other day who saw my G6 in my arm and said, "Hey man, hay are you doing Keto / Palio as well?" then he showed me his G6...... i said, no, I'm a T1, and he said oh... lots of ppl at the gyms are using them! so, in reality, the "ONE" can be used by that group of ppl (it can also be used on a patient like a T2 over the 10 days so a doctor or Educator can see if their treatment needs adjusting). Both use-cases do not need all the features we need as T1D's

#We're not waitiing you said. Someone will find a way to connect the data coming from the sensor and make it for bradcasting to other aplications like XDrip and therfore AAPS and loops in general. Our DIY Diabetic community is strong and will find a way to improve the possibilities and usability even for cut down Sensors like the Dex One. So good news for our friends with not so good and/or high cost Health insurance as in the USA for example

I'm on a Dexcom One trial. Usually a Libre 2 user. I'm quite enjoying the One, I kinda like the different shape of the sensors and the app seems reliable. The missing features compared to the G6 doesn't bother me... it has the same feature set as the Libre2, and I use xDrip for alarms etc anyway. Nice thing about Dexcom is that I can use the full CGM function, and xDrip at the same time.

If the G6 and Dexcom One are physically the same, I wonder why they cannot simply provide the better app/software with it. It seems to me that if they already developed the G6 app, there is no extra cost to just let more people use the software. That might be an interesting question if you have another opportunity to interview the Dexcom management. Given that Libre2 can now work as a CGM, the main difference might be the fact that Dexcom glucose data presentation on the apps is better. What do you think?

In Cambridge the CCG will only fund the Dexcom One. I use a Tandem pump and really need a Dexcom G6. The usual UK Post Code lottery when it comes to Standards of Care and £££s. Foolish in the short and long term.

Really bad! Lack of vision with having One and tslim! Surely makes a compelling case for Dexcom G6.

Hi @Nerdabetic Really enjoy your videos. Given that now, in the UK at least, the FreeStyle Libre 2 with the new 2.10 Librelink app is also a rtCGM, it would be interesting to see your view and a comparison between the FL2, Dexcom One and Dexcom 7 including comments on App capabilities, ability to share data and extensions to other devices such as watches. I suspect this is where Dexcom 7 would win - on that last point and also the ability to use it to closed-loop but it would be worth seeing a view of the pros and cons each. In particular, given that FL2 and Dexcom One are available to pretty much all T1's in the UK on prescription it would be good to see a detailed comparison between the two in light of FL2's rtCGM capabilities.

What country are you in? I'm a lifelong resident of the USA. Strange how people in other countries would get something before us Americans when it's an American company like Medtronic which I'm on currently but looking for opinions and advice about what's better/best.

I use dexcom one from week, and totally not hear alarms. Used libre 2 before and there I have to check my glucose level to stop alarm. With dexcom one I sleep and hear nothing. Is there any option to repeat alarm?? All notifications are on, and silent mode off.

They are similar, i would not say "the most precise similar with g6". Has a very crazy algoritm. If you were a few days over 200, being sick or something, the next senzor will actually start the cout from 200 even if you are 100. Sometimes it continues to calibrate for days, showing you are growing when you are falling and viceversa. Some are good right away, but some are terrible. You end up pricking your fingers more

@@bjarkih1977 That's a good point. I thought that they were trying to make a more affordable product for diabetics to compete with Abbott Freestyle Libre but I guess it's not for that.

Hi! Although the moment of sensors has arrived, maybe we shouldn't give up on classic glucometers just yet. In addition, not everyone has or can afford a sensor. That's why I suggest you do a test... or a comparison. A comparison to check the classic blood glucose result, with that of sensors and several other glucometers. The condition is that immediately after taking blood from your vein, note down the result of the sensors and do it with several different glucometers. I think few ppl have many and various glucometers, and sensors even fewer. It's easy for you to be able to make such a comparison. And I don't think there has been such an experiment done by anyone so far. Or maybe i'm wrong. What do you say ? Will you act on such an experiment? P.S. One time cannot be enough. Let's say that it should be repeated at least three or four times? That way we could also see if the difference between the different values of the glucometers is preserved.

Personally I think it is a great option for many but I completely understand it shouldn’t be used when there is a need for G6 or G7. Have a good day

It's just incredible that the HCPs are recommending this device when it has many of the essential capabilities removed. Nowhere to record carbs and insulin. No way to see the data on lock screens or watch, no warning of impending lows. Just too many shortfalls to make this a truly viable proposition. On top of which it is significantly bigger and more ugly than the FSL2 and catches on my clothes all the time. I'll use it for the month and then switch back to FreeStyle Libre 2.
@marcusjackson9978
@marcusjackson9978 Жыл бұрын
That's a particularly smart decision given that, with the new LibreLink App version 2.1, the Libre 2 is now also a rtCGM. This may be in the UK only but if you do happen to be in the UK then I think this now outclasses the Dexcom One.
