Props to Nicky Spencer for being smart enough to make a weapon to attack his kidnapper. I can't imagine his resaoning for thinking its okay to do this to two kids including his own. And since they had the same blood type odds that Nicky isn't his kid is unlikely despite the obsession with theories to make this some twisted way of saving his son from his ex.

I actually called it when the killer showed up in a mask. Why would the killer need a mask for us if we didn’t know who he was? It’s a dexter formula they have always used. They show the killer before you know their secret and Patrick Dempsey was always a bit over the top. He was the only possibility when you look at the dexter formula. Even Trinity was just an innocent old man settling in for a nice warm bath in those opening minutes of ep 1 season 4 before they inevitably flipped the script

This is the early 90s. The original Dexter was set in the mid 2000s, so people have come and gone before Captain Matthews appears. Folks on this thread keeps saying Laguerta is going to take Spencer’s place once he’s out of the picture. I don’t think that’ll happen initially. Also, in the original Dexter they show young Matthews stopping by Harry’s house when Dexter is a teenager. So he’s around the police dept even before Dexter starts to work at Miami Metro but not in the dept. I also remember in the original Dexter when Harry goes to the shipping container to get Dexter after Laura is chopped up, he has on a police uniform though he’s a detective. I wonder how they’re going to spin that because they showed that flashback of Harry in a police uniform getting Dexter multiple times in the original Dexter.

I figured it out when the wife came into the station and they showed their family dinamic and it didn't look so good a few episodes earlier or the episode before so i mean maybe judge powell was the one who gave custody to the mom when they were going through the divorce and all of that and then him being mad at the situation and not being so mad that his own kid being kidnapped it didn't seem like he was so concerned at all you can see the acting heck it was made to be that way more than likely

I knew from forever ago that the Captain was a bad person WAYY before episode 7, I knew from all his acting, but at least the show is making it out to look that way.
