i couldn't stop laughing when dexter tried to kill chino 2 times and failed, and got him on the third try. just throwing him around like a rag doll then dexter learning how to use like 10 times more tape after chino got free, and chino saying "who the f*ck are you" was just hysterical to me. but that scene when he first wakes up and michael's tense sweaty oh sh*t reaction looked super intense

One of the reasons why Dexter didn't believe in himself and didn't try to change was because Harry underestimated him. He, too, believed Dexter can't change. Dexter is different from Saxon. Saxon cannot change, but Dexter was slowly starting to understand and feel emotions---albeit it being a slow process with him. Why would you want Dexter to stay a killer? O___o

He's a psychopath..his brain is different from that of an ideal brain. He doesn't feel remorse for what he does and to make him change is such a ludicrous thing to try and do. It's my opinion they could've went a dozen different ways with season 8 and chose an awful way to end the show.

I agree with the last two seasons not being nearly up to par as those before. I agree with your point to an extent but I feel like it's main issue was the death of Rita. It was an amazing "Omfg" moment for sure but after she left the show some of the magic of the show left with it too. I always loved the dynamic Dex had with Rita and the kids and it really provided something special to the show. Hasn't been the same without her.

When I research episodes with her in it, I always fast forward through her parts. I found her character to be super annoying...at first very needy, wimpy, and whispery..then she became super demanding, bitchy, bossy. She became a totally different person after Paul died, more awful than she was before which was bad enough. Thank goodness for FAST FORWARD.

When he says we are bringing the show back to the intense level with Season 7, it's because Dexter lost that edge after they killed Doakes at the end of season 2. The show still survived and thrived, but it could have been so much better had they hung on to him. Much like "Weeds" did Conrad after the end of season two. Ironic.

The worst part of the show was no one in the entire character set had a high moral, except for Harry. He tried to create something human out of dexter but instead he failed at and killed himself for it. I thought Angel would be the one to catch Dexter on the act or something like that. Nope. I thought debra would do that but since she was his sister, i never had hopes. At least Quinn should've done something. It was unrealistic. To me, Dexter ended in season 4
