This formula usually accounted for the most exciting parts of each season, and The Skinner was the worst main killer, along with Miguel Prado ranking pretty close to the bottom on the series' list of accomplices/acquaintances/confidants. He wasn't a very interesting character, and their relationship was introduced so early in the season that there was less room for tension/suspense/mystery.

Dexter did intentionally let him take the pen and attack him first just so that he can have an excuse to kill him. I love the brain surgeon so much. By far the most underrated villain in the whole series. Sure, I agree he should’ve had more development and screen time but I love this character. My biggest problem is he’s revealed to be the FINAL villain of the show in the last couple of episodes, I think he should’ve been properly revealed earlier. This guy is such a maniac and the concept of removing the part of the brain that processes empathy is so cool and terrifying. I’m not gonna lie, if I had to choose between staying in a room with Arthur Mitchell or oliver Saxon I would definitely pick Arthur !!! Oliver Saxon is so insane, he doesn’t have any problems with killing people even family members BESIDES people do not give him enough credit because he is literally the guy who ultimately destroyed dexter’s life by killing the most important person in his life, Debra. I think other villains are better but I think the brain surgeon is much much much better than doomsday killer and Jordan chase and he’s more dangerous and intimidating than Lila and Miguel prado. I love the brain surgeon. And I like the fact he has similarities to the ice truck killer. UNDERRATED VILLAIN !! ❤❤❤❤❤

It definitely could have been done for Oliver, I mean... If you look at Hannibal Season 3, Francis Dolarhyde a.k.a the Red Dragon was introduced mid-way (somewhat after the mid-way point of the season tbf) and things built up really well around and about him. If Oliver was handled the same way Francis was, he could have definitely been the greatest possible, even if it takes place in what could arguably be one of the worse seasons of Dexter as a whole (I generally have no issues with the seasons past 4, but I can see where everyone else's frustrations lie. I did join the fray when they butchered the ending of New Blood and denied us that confrontation between Dexter and Batista)

Watching dexter i now realise why i retired from the cleaning business 😮 there's always the barrel and the rotten egg.

It's crazy because he survived a stab to a vital area too. There's a couple arteries up in that area in fact there was an only fans woman who said she threw a knife I guarantee she stabbed her boyfriend but he bled from the subclavian artery. Anyway when you hit these arteries you have about 30 seconds. Some people can choose to fight during that 30 seconds. They say sometimes it can be a few minutes open never have to find out. Anyway in that situation the bad guy can be really dangerous. The serial killer dialogue is always really really creepy that's why I can't get into this dexter stuff. But I do study self-defense combatives and blade work all the time. This one was harder to watch because I forgot about the amount of detail they go into to making everything look hyper realistic.

Did he really just say killing his own Mother was “Cathartic”, wtf

Well, yes. He's a psycho that always hated his mother, that must've been ecstasy for him.

I don't either and I only rewatched the entire thing recently. My brain blacks out bad things as a way of defending itself.

19:25 kinda proves that Dexter ISN'T without feelings or empathy. Again this season ruins the character

Dexter has always had feelings and empathy. He thought he had no feelings and was constantly proven wrong throughout the show

@@ashwath5733 yeah I guess I can see that... I guess he is an unreliable narrator then when it comes to that because his actions speak louder than the voice in his head lol

I watched this as it aired back in 2013, and at exactly 26:18 when he makes that face, I knew this was a 'kill room'. I hate the ending (both), but lots of great moments throughout the show's history.

Why the fuck didn’t Dexter just tell his coworkers about the DNA/face matching?
@nandatou5 ай бұрын
Dexter keeps fucking up by withholding information just to get personal revenge. At some point in the series it was not about the criminals that escaped the law anymore. He helps the criminals out so they can land on his table.

Season 4 was the peak of “Dexter’s refusal to finish a job or protect innocent people to satisfy some personal desire.” Rita’s murder should have been a wakeup call. Instead, Dexter continued to be careless and drew out hunts far longer than S1-3 Dex would ever have let last. Season 4 perfectly teased all these opportunities to kill Trinity to drive home that Dexter was making a mistake. To not have him learn from this and develop a sense of urgency is just bad writing.
