Isaak was definitely the most normal and mentally sane villain of the series. Every other villain is mentally unstable.
@vicwaters873 ай бұрын
That's because Isaak is the only villain in the series who isn't a serial killer. He's a mob boss and hitman with a substantial bodycount, but not out of some need to kill like everyone else, but simply part of his dirty, criminal underworld. Miguel technically wasn't a serial killer, but he was a borderline sociopath with how much he manipulated every single person around him and built his entire legacy out of lies. I'd also argue that Kurt wasn't mentally unstable, but rather, a genuinely evil man. He has that need to kill too, but is far more self aware and downright gleeful about his bodycount, to where he's literally boasting about it to Dexter when he meets his end.
@sumeetdhoat67473 ай бұрын
@@vicwaters87 I still say Isaak was less evil and more sane than Kurt was.
@michacieslak23462 ай бұрын
@@vicwaters87 Oh, but Kurt was quite unstable. All the drama around what he did, theatricality, ritual, preparing bodies and it all because someone wanted to leave the town? Isaak was so menacing, seeing him as he sat down in dexters apartment waiting for him with his knives and tools out ready to t0rture and kill him was such an amazing way of demonstrating a character without words, how he is the only one who is able to make dexter lose his appetite from just sitting and talking to him, most of all using something that (at the time) was a bit “controversial” like being a homosexual and over all in the mafia which makes it a whole lot more complex, and still manage to be one of the most cold blooded killers out there, I loved how his reason to kill dexter is to venge his lover, which in my opinion is one of the best reasons to go out of his way to kill dexter, yet at the end they made it so much better by having them work together to get the men who want to kill isaak and at the end being wounded so badly that it’s fatal and has the man who killed his lover take him on his boat to where dexter dumped his body as a dying wish, amazing story line.

Enjoyed the Isaak character. Wish they flushed out his story more rather than odd Debra-Dexter "im in love with you" junk (nothing against Debra. Her character and the actess are fantastic overall). But Isaak was a refreshing antagonist (especislly from last season's boring portrayal by Hanks). Isaak was fierce and intimidating, yet composed and vulnerable. And while he hated Dexter, he brought a level of respect and reverence in his interactions with his enemy. Their conversation in the gaybar was one of my favorites. 2 enemies agreeing to an intelligent conversation yet remaining steadfast to their beliefs. It reminded me ofnthe cafe scene in the movie Heat between DeNiro and Pacino.
