@MichaelSmith-ku7ki
@MichaelSmith-ku7ki 2 жыл бұрын
@@kulaib14 Rabbits are prey animals and very stressed in the wild. That's why their reproduction is so high... because of their high natural mortality rates from their many predators. What's a rabbit really want? This is a safe predator free environment with a ready source of food. Rabbits aren't like chickens. They don't naturally return at night or do other manageable things so you can just turn them loose and keep them from getting lost or eaten. And they are diggers and natural escape artists. I don't know how you think they should be raised. Do you have any videos you can point me to where rabbits are kept that you don't consider "torture"? I'm interested in starting a rabbitry utilizing the best system possible. Thank you for your input! I'm very interested in learning.

(2) How do you know how many days it takes to dig up the kids from beneath the ground? Or does she dig them up herself? Won't they die of suffocation?

Im so sad to see how a year down the line your ethos has changed soo drastically 😢 what happened to raising ethical happy animals? Free ranging? Now its become a profit driven business where the quality of animals have slipped. I remember when you first started and you will put so much care into making your animals were free and happy. Please try to go back to that person you used to be.

@mideallen202

@@pimenjoyer.221 you have made a good point but as for me its the method of farming that i am not happy about. I have been in cases where the demand for my product has increased but I would not let my animals under my care suffer just because I want to keep up to the demand. We humans were entrusted with being stewards of the Earth. The trust (amanah) includes looking after each creature with care and they in return will be a service to you. Looking at the natural habitat of Rabbits it does not belong in a cage, they naturally eat grass. If he is not happy to put his chickens in cages then why rabbits? We humans have to go back to being natural in Everything!!! Not just one animals. God please forgive us and let our eyes be open to return back to the way we should be. Stewards of the Earth not oppressors 😢

And how do you check them for health problems? When you put so many does in the same cage, do they every fight/hurt each other? I've never had rabbits before but interested. Also, have you ever considered breeding for specific colours/patterns? It can take some time to work out the genetic combinations but can be a lot of fun :)

It is natural, after some hours the mother digs to feed them, I could see it with a rabbit we had home.

How deep are your side panels burried? Do you have a solid floor (metal or screening) to keep them from digging out and escaping? If so, would you please explain your system? Thank you!

Dexter. I appreciate your hard work. My objection is that your have different breeds of rabbits and then cross breed them. Result would be a common rabbit with loss of all the efforts done earlier fro selective breeding.

How long do you keep them in the maternity hutches? You definitely have a well established system. It seems very well thought out.
