It was nice seeing a fellow pet lover having such beautiful birds.. I would love to have a farm like yours.. Regarding the seed mix.. 3kg birdseed mix 2kg canary seeds .25kg safflower .25kg oat growth / jockey oat .25kg buckwheat .25kg sunflower stripe I usually have a separate stock for sunflower stripe and oat growth for breeders with chicks.. I dont feed them with the mix i have within a week time.. Goodluck to your breeding..

Hello Dexter, A very good day to you. Your videos have inspired me to try Fish Breeding and fortunately I have been able to successfully breed 3 types of Guppy and Beta fish. I have 100+ Beta now which are almost 3 months old. I also have Black Moscow Guppy, Blue Moscow Guppy and Albino Full Red Guppy. There are approximately 60 - 70 fish of each guppy types. I have some Experience in African Lovebirds Breeding and in past few years I was able to raise more than 1000 African Love Birds at my Home. To induce Breeding and Nesting in the African Love birds, you can try to provide them with Green Grass, which they will pickup and then create a Nest inside the Breeding Clay Pot. Also I maintain more Clay Pots than the number of pairs I have. For Example, I had 30 Pairs of birds and I used to provide them around 50 Clay Pots. I have observed that when the Babies are Simi Adults, the pair will lay new eggs in a Different Pot. So One pair may need more than 1 Breeding Pot at one time. African Lovebirds love Spinach, Coriander and Indian Basil Leaves. I also use to give them some Turmaric Powder with there water to help them in improving there Immune System. I hope this helps you. I wish you lots of Success in your efforts, and please do keep sharing such Wonderfull Videos.

The negative about colony breeding sir dexter is they become territorial and also on the colony breeding u should place more nestbox more that the number of your total pair for them to have choice where they want to lay eggs and avoid nestbox ambush.

And also sir dexter, feed them once a day only, too much protien will make them fat thus the hens will suffer from SAPOLA(fat deposit near the pelvic bone) it will be hard for them to breed if they catch that disease. African lovebirds are very prone to have sapola. Give them sun flower seeds in moderation as sunflower seeds contains high protien content. I usually give sunflower seeds whenever my breeders already has chicks as chicks need a high protien diet in order for them to grow.

Hi sir Dexter! Sunflower seeds and oath are not that much recommend for breeding pairs. It has high fat content and it may cause SAPOLA (fatty tummy) which can be a problem specially to hens and can prevent them from laying eggs permanently. Canary mix and white mellet is enough. You can give those sunflower seeds and oath growth when they already have their chicks. Hoping for more inspiring videos to come. GODBLESS! ❤

I started watching your videos when you first began your channel because you were making them about fish and to now see how much you have grown in such a short period of time is amazing im both a lover all things fish and birds and have bread cockateils here in the uk🇬🇧 for many years I have an Australian pink galah in the house and an African grey I find that by leaving the cockateils to pair up by them selves you achieve better colour creation you have to re new the blood lines and be very vigilant when harvesting to not allow inter breeding to occur this leads too poorly bred and deformed chicks this does happen occasionally but with vigilance and regularly changing the blood lines can be prevented

They will be always fighting for the higher nests, it is best if you could keep the nest boxes at the same level. You could also try to focus on the best colors and body shapes by selective breeding. :)

Hello sir Dexter again I’m here. I will suggest you to use the african mix by triple crown or canary mix. Giving them sunflower and oatgrowth will give them sapola or excessive fat. I also suggest you to only feed them ones a day that’s enough because they might gain some fats also. You can use sunflowers, oathgrowths and chickbooster if they are on breeding having a chicks you can also give chickbooster to your parakeets to make their chick more stronger.

you can feed them every morning, use plastic cups that found in babys milk...2 cups of seeds is enough for 1 pair...they should not gain weight because it is prone to "sapola"...in pairing ALBs, ideally...always pair same mutatiom like yellow bull ( pure yellow ,red beak , black eyes) , it is a classic mutation....and lutino ( pure yellow , red beal , red eyes)

Good that you are giving the birds a variety of grains. To ensure they are getting each grain in the right proportion set up a buffet style system to test: 1. Weigh out each grain and put in separate containers for a day or two. 2. Weigh the remaining grain in each container afterwards to get the proportion of each consumed. You can then use the same proportions in the mixed feed. Birds know how to balance their ration for good health therefore your mixture would be close ideal. In the olden days of animal nutrition studies for making formulated feed, this method was used.

I suggest to give them a bigger nest box to prevent offsprings from splayed legs suffering. Aside from that. Once the bird started their 1st clutch, they will continously clutching until breeding season ends, so i suggest to give them a rest every after 2 clutch for a month to prevent the birds from calcium deficiency due to continuous laying eggs by covering the entrance of the nestbox. Also, problem with continuous clutching is that later offsprings quality are getting bad.

When one idiot says something and enough other idiots repeat it and it then becomes internet fact. Just like covid. Splayed legs have genetic origins. NOT a small or slippery nesting box. How in the hell can a slippery box make legs grow from unnatural locations? That’s right. It can’t. Maaaaaybe cramped or slippery conditions can cause a bent or paralyzed leg. But the only splayed chick I’ve ever had was so shocking to see. I thought it was 2 chicks cuddling. It was a total freak show.

In african lovebirds. Its better to feed them once a day only in morning. And use only white millet and canary seeds to avoid them getting fat. Its bad for hen to be very fat, thay might have sapola and it will be difficult for them to lay eggs. Use only high protein seeds to them like the oat groat, saff and sunflower if they have chicks. There's a lot of vlogger about albs and you can learn a lot from them about right system of breeding lovebirds
