The Starcruiser was way way waaaaay too overpriced, it really wasn’t a surprise it was gonna shut down. Not too many Star Wars fans have the money to dish out for something like that, and not every single Star Wars fan with that kinda money was gonna see it worthwhile for that price either… Also, I really really wish I got to experience Alien Encounter, sounded so cool. And congrats on 15 years :)
@elisabeth2166

It also just never worked right, apparently. I know several people who went and spent varying amounts of money on extras and nobody came back without some pretty serious complaints about the game and the roleplaying not actually working properly (Characters not trained on how to deal with certain very basic types of interactions and the app just glitching out and never sending missions or updating progress were the most common). Seems like it was extremely rushed and nobody bothered to actually hang out with Star Wars fans before it was all put together. She doesn't cover everything, but Jenny Nicholson has a pretty great 4 hour video on her and her sister's experience when they went just as regular joes and not under the influencer umbrella.

It was a failure of publicity. I've never known anyone who went who didn't think they got every penny of their money's worth. Th only people who thought it was too expensive were the people who didn't understand what they'd be getting for the price and thought it was a themed hotel.

I honestly think my dad would LOVE this attraction! He's into the thrills and scares - unlike me. xD I told him about this attraction recently, and I don't think he even knew of it, only the Stitch one. Honestly, I can't even take the complaints of "terrified kids" seriously. Alien wasn't a kids movie. Not everything should be catered to them, give the adults things to do as well - and not just related to bars, clubs, and drinking!

this would be AWESOME for grown-ups, but let me tell you, as a former Florida local, it was not fun to see all the frightened, shellshocked, sobbing little ones coming out of Alien Encounter because their parents didn't heed the "this attraction is SCARY" warning.

As both a Walt Disney Company shareholder and a Walt Disney World annual pass holder I understand they need to make money and cover expenses like paying cast members and utilities to run the hotels and parks. But there is a point that the average family can no longer afford to park to the parks anymore; then the company will lose revenue. My first family family trip to Walt Disney World for a 10 day trip in the Summer of 1983; when I was 7 my mother was on Social Security disability and a stay at home mom my father made $13 an hour as a General Motors assembly line worker. Back in the 1980s the average family could afford a Walt Disney World vacation without going into credit card debt!!!

If you missed ExtraTerrorEstrial, don't fret: you can still ride its awesome clone in Staffordshire, England. Nemesis Sub-Terra is essentially a five-minute version of Alien Encounter where the floor "collapses" and the seats drop eleven feet straight down into an alien hatchery, where a bunch of eggs hatch and splash you with water. Then everything goes dark and it turns into a more conventional version of the classic Disney ride. Following that, you go through a miniature haunted house full of scare actors. It's easily the most terrifying ride at the entire park, but if you're not an Alien Encounter fan, you can still ride all the world-record-breaking coasters nearby.

Honestly if they would offer the starcruiser at the same price for 2 weeks to a month and keep the story ammount but spread it outside over 2 weeks to a month wich is much more worth ones money... I think that could fix the starcruiser thing, whilst making it more fun yet not completely compressed in 2 days and 2 nights and perhaps make some activities free from the overall story apart from when a guest is planned to go there like think something like where you are being arrested by jabba the hut and you need to explain yourself and then get either reasoning to be held there or someone like han solo saves you...

I'll add a couple more 1) Free line skip passes - because money is king, and making people who already dropped a ton on vacation feel like second class citizen and have a horrible experience in the park is apparently one of Disney's prime directives, after all it's just a LITTLE bit more. 2) Delicious pastries on Main Street - see 1, plus too many coffee snobs (irony incoming) out there who have to have Starbucks. Now walking into the park at 8am and using a single snack credit on a cinnamon roll the size of a camping pillow that will give you the jitters for the next hour is just a tale of the past.

In 2019, my son did the Pirates Adventure game. He loved it. This past spring, we did an escape room that was pirates themed and it reminded me a lot of the Disney pirate game. I wonder how some Disney themed Escape Room games would go over at Disney World or Disneyland. Could do Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan, Toy Story, Sorcerers Apprentice, etc?

I found you two years ago on a lonely maternity leave and have watched nearly every video since then. You clearly put so much thought, care and dedication into every post. I haven’t been to Disney since I was 8 but thank you for being there with joyful content. ☺️💛

KZbin's algorithm hadn't been bringing you up on my main page in a long time. It was nice to hear some news from you again. Side note, I don't understand why they are so stubborn to not just turn the galactic Cruiser into a regular Disney Resort hotel. I would love to stay there and leave at my own free will.

I'm surprised they gave the name "Pleasure Island" to an unrelated nightclub rather than an area/ride themed after the island from Pinocchio.

There also used to be a wagon by Big Thunder that was strictly for McDonald's fries. (Disneyland) I remember getting fries one day, and then they were gone the next! We were all so sad

O:39. The Dapper Dan in blue, second from the left, is named Myron Whittlesey. He sings bass in the 2017 Barbershop Harmony Society International championship quartet for 2017, Main Street. The other Main Street members also sing or have sung as Dapper Dans at WDW. Main Street is most famous for their pop song medley, and for tap dancing while they sing.

The fact that Disney couldn’t keep a Star Wars themed hotel open for an entire year is one of the best summaries of how they’ve handled the franchise. Right up there with Hasbro not being able to sell a lightsaber.
