I am not a hater or fan boy of any kind.... I am 44 for christ sake, so take your console war bull and do one. I own a decent PC, PS5 and SX...... There are and have been some decent games, but at this point, if someone was short on cash and desperate for a current gen console, i would have too say don't. Yes, there has been a few great games.... But some people are struggling money wise, and i would say the CURRENT gen consoles are a luxury, not an absolute must. So this PS5 Pro crap... WHY!? There is hardly anything outstanding on the current PS5, let alone the cost of a Pro that will probably be between £480 and £550, and you are talking a decent budget 1080p PC build, with all the games on GOG and Steam at that price. And anyone that genuinely believes that the Pro will come out and all of a sudden Sony will say ''Surprise!'' And drop 5 PS5 Pro single player banger's..... You are living in dream world, and there are a few of you out there. PS5 have LOST their way with this generation, compared to the PS4 and PS3 era, what they need is fantastic game after fantastic game, like they used too be. All it is lately is Oh, another remaster, oh and another remaster, oh and a remake. Or Oh look, overpriced PSVR2 with no games, oh look, a totally pointless over priced Portal..... Or another revision of the PS5. If that isn't it... They release another crappy games as a service title. This isn't Playstation! Days Gone was a stunning game, one of my all time favorites. Any time I seen one of those hordes, I would rethink my life on how I should go forward if at all anymore. Amazing game and I usually hate zombie games, really sad if I never see a Days Gone 2. I'm a video game veteran too, so many hours, and Days Gone is up there with the best of them. The emotional immersion, the running, the Oh sh*t oh sh*t moments. Glad some of DF got to experience it since most did not and everything about it, story implementation, graphics, pacing, variable change, diverse open world, character design.. all A to A+ level in my opinion.

Wow crazy to see so many click PS5 Pro videos just to talk down on it. Sure you're either just a troll, or someone who is going to trash it and buy it anyway, or just here because you're bored and click things just to poop on them (troll). Not to you specifically, but yeah to answer your question these are refresh consoles, not new consoles so I wouldn't expect a new game to launch with it either. I actually really enjoyed the PS4 Pro which was at a time where basically so many were getting 4k LCD TVs and it really pushed the pixel rates higher. Obviously it was a refresh focused on pixel pushing and not a new console all together, as it wasn't meant to be. I thought there was some beautiful games visually that came with the 4.20 tflops vs the 1.83. CPU was still a Jaguar, so no improvements to physics or over all frame rate for the most part due to only a 500Mhz jump on a Jaguar CPU that is still a Jaguar. Some games didn't look the greatest (AC Syndicate), but I played Horizon Zero Dawn I think on the PS4 Pro and the implementation of checkerboard rendering was amazing and better than anything I ever seen from FSR (even though FSR gets so much praise because its peoples choice AMD, for the people by the people, blah blah). I'm still excited for the PS5 Pro and I will probably get it at some point. I did upgrade from PS5 to a 4090 PC, and even running old games like AC Valhalla, or even Warframe which is kind of shocking, you really do see the compromises that have to be made to get a lot of these games running and hitting certain targets. Metro Exodus on 4090 made the PS5 edition look like PS4, and you'll never see this on KZbin comparisons for some wierd reason that I can't tell if its intentional or not, but there's really a huge gap in not just frame rate but compromise on the current consoles that go beyond simple reported dynamic resolutions. If the PS5 Pro can bring out more of the actual game without compromise (that no one would know unless they knew better), I think its actually pretty exciting. Looking forward to the PS5 Pro.

What is the point in a Ps5 pro? There are hardly any games out even now that require the power of the PS5. This has probably been the worst console generation of all time. Half of the next gen only games are final fantasy games so if you are not a fan of those what is the reason to buy a ps5? Nintendo as always saw the writing on the wall a while ago, ever increasing graphical power for the sake of it leads to less games because they cost an extreme amount to make and then the ones you do get are all derivative and identical to one another with a different skin on top.

processor-wise, I agree.. it will not offer any mindblowing upgrade. However, incremental upgrades that somehow shows the true 4k 90-120fps like they initially advertise in their box might count as a superior upgrade to many console user. Other than that, you can expect the feature is just as comparable as all of their PC Release trailer for their old exclusives.

Nobody wants to make exclusive features for a single platform, the lowest common denominator will still always be Xbox Series S in this generation. In the best case scenario they can make enhanced versions for PS5 Pro and PC but that would alienate the Xbox crowd still. Sony owned studios will probably be forced to do it but it's not worth upgrading for a handful of games when the PS5 experience will still be good.

There will be no "Killer Apps" to sell this useless pieces of junk just like there were no "Killer Apps" selling PS5s and XSXs up until today. That console generation was dead on arrival. No exclusives that justify the price point and rarity, subpar performance from (again) using of the shelf office components and again none of the promised killer features, just bog standard stuff we had on pc for ages. The only thing that will change again is games running at a slightly higher resolution when using dynamic resolution, more less demanding/older games will support 90/120fps and more current games will hit 60fps more often, thats all that the pro consoles are going to bring to the table (again) while asking for upped prices.

Microsoft no longer wants to be in direct competition with Sony. They won't make another traditional console, there's no point when their own games will be on PlayStation, and will be selling more copies there than their own platform. People have been saying consoles will go away for years now. Consoles aren't going anywhere, just because Microsoft sucks at it doesn't mean anything to PlayStation and Nintendo. It get tired of people acting like the leaders in console gaming would somehow follow the failure in console gaming. Not everyone wants the extra cost and hassle of PC gaming, and if you look at the industry the best, highest quality games in the industry come from consoles. The entire industry literally revolves around consoles. All you PC dudes talk about Nintendo showcases, PlayStation showcases, Xbox showcases, but NONE of you talk about the PC showcase. I watched the most recent PC showcase, and it looked more like a refurbished android showcase. PC isn't anything remarkable when it comes to gaming, you just happen to be able to play games on a computer as well. PlayStation as a company is a hardware company, and they produce their software to sell their hardware. They have a store in millions of people's living rooms where they get 30% cuts of games they don't even have to make. Why would they give that up?? Matter of fact with the failure of Xbox, I can see PlayStation becoming even bigger and more popular .

Yeah I hope they recapture the PS4 Pro/Xbox One X energy an deliver some great footage and experiences when the PS5 Pro gets announced. Pretty much all of their studios are working on at least one game and some are even making two. Theres no way in my mind they're stupid enough to not have a lot of games to market with the new hardware, so much easy upgrades come to mind including Returnal, Avatar, sackboy, GT7 etc that could really use it. I'm both interested in the Ray Tracing and AI/upscaling Prowess but only if the upgrades are tangibily greater than RDNA3, PSSR should be dope if their pass work on checkboard upscaling and different TAA across different first party games is anything to go by. As I've always have, shout out to that Checkerboarding era. there were some great results on that limited hardware, some not so great aswell but overall not anywhere close to FSR2 bad from memory.

I don't think the Pro's going to sell as well as the PS4 Pro did. People expect more (and were promised more) out of their PS5s. Many had to wait 2 years to finally be able to buy one. Instead of releasing a Pro model they should be optimizing their games better and churning out exclusives more frequently.

in terms of first party, almost every game has 30/40/60/120 so they have actually done a good job of getting the promised performance on most titles. it is really the third party games that have been struggling

With PS4 Pro they had VR as an argument, such that the frame rate for VR games are higher. Since VR games and PSVR2 are more niche again, this is also not a strong argument for a PS5 Pro

What? Just to play Ps4 games with fast ssd loading times it worth it . 155 ps4 games have the free 4k/60fps patch. The Ps4 can't play so many new games like Alan Wake2 ,Jedi Survivor BDG3 (To many games to list) . Replay Mass Effect Legendary at 4k/60fps and see if you regret a Ps5 .

If graphics are all it has, it’s not going to sell well. Half the users still using PS4 proves that almost no one cares lol. Sony needs to add Pro-only features like a more traditional console design, bundling it with a Dualsense Edge, or natively playing PS3 games. Hell, I’d buy it Day 1 if it added split-screen multiplayer to some of their recent games.
