Alien Isolation was insanely good. A friend and i played it together. He already knew the game inside out and "forced" me to play it on hardest difficulty level. Man, i can tell you. That experience was one of a kind...

because there's no PS5 version, you are playing the PS4 version via backwards compatibility, which was locked 30fps, how is that gonna change without developer input?. There was no incentive to patch it to 60fps on current gen, although that could change now I guess.

I would personally like them to do what dead space 2 did. Where the game doesn't have to load the next map and you keep going. Maybe too much to ask for. I just hope they don't change it to a shooter towards the end of the game. I don't think they will.

First time playing Alien Isolation was only possible a chapter a time, cause it was so tense and scary. Alien Isolation in MotherVR Mod is en par with HL Alyx, concerning the immersion. It is so good, it´s one of these games worth playing again after a while. For what it intended, everything about it was so spot on, its a better Alien movie than all the recent ones. God, i hope they do that game justice.

I really hope they focus on supporting VR from the ground-up. I tried it a bit and was really impressed, despite it having some control issues. But the gameplay and design was fantastic, the visuals had such great attention to detail, and the atmosphere was perfect. I'm confident that the sequel can elevate what was done before, but we'll know when they feel ready to show something.

Isolation was very similar to the first movie. I wonder if they will make the second game more like the second movie as well lol. I can imagine a bigger open map on a planet, a facility and outside area to explore, perhaps with a special vehicle. Probably more alien enemies with more ways to defend yourself.

It doesn't just need good survival horror and gameplay mechanics, but it needs to capture the story telling, narrative and atmosphere of the original game relative to the source material. Accomplishing these individually, or in isolation--pun not intended--is fine, but achieving them all in tandem is a tall order. Honestly, the original is fine and holds up just as well, but perhaps its ending does merit room for a sequel to properly conclude the arc; however, it must be done to at least a certain standard.

I just replayed the game for the forth time just a few days ago and hearing the news about a sequel is honestly incredible (not to mention a long time coming). Between this and the release of Romulus, it's a really good time for for us Alien fans.

I loved the first game, but I feel the Devs missed the opportunity to put Amanda in some tiny undies. I sincerely hope they right that wrong in isolation 2. And would it kill them to add some seventies bush?

Hey DF, if you can find the time, you should take a look at the new remaster of Darksiders 2. The game looks lovely in 60fps, 4k and with ray tracing. This is when and how a remaster should be done IMO.

When describing the game, I came up with the term "Reverse Resident Evil" where RE will always make you feel small but you eventually build confidence to handle every threat and the big bad stalker will ALWAYS get a rocket launcher to the face. In AI, it's the exact opposite where you never feel any sense of accomplishment and the game just relishes on it, almost being a celebration of nihilism. From the story, gameplay and utterly dissatisfying ending, it's a game that dares to be a dejecting experience.

It's the Amnesia horror design. Amnesia basically reinvigorated survival horror in 2010 by sticking you, defenceless, in first person. Isolation took inspiration from it, as did Resident Evil, Outlast and a bunch of less successful indie games.

The first 3rd of the game was amazing full paranoia and terror. Unfortunately, the rest of the game was full of jumpscares, and it got annoying to finished.

I assume it will be an the end of the PS5 console life given the previous one both on PS3 and PS4. So you can probably estimate alien isolation 2 on ps6 and on RTX gen 6 and early gen 7 Hopefully with significantly better faces. 🙃 Maybe they could do a David vs bishop thing... David even as a synthetic would be getting on in years... 🤔
