Living a few hours from Nashville and my sister who lives there I love that place. I remember the first time visiting Carter's I knew I was in heaven. Rumble Seat is also an awesome store if you love vintage gear and amps it's the place to visit.

Great vid guys! Thanks! Still hoping for an episode (even a short one) on Rich Worthington (who passed not very long ago now) and his guitars, especially the beautiful doublecut that Pat (hopefully still) owns.

Great video guys. Loved seeing the old early 70's mail order catalogue only 5 Watt 1x12 Marshall Mercury behind you whilst speaking with Eliot at Rumble Seat. I had one of those as my first combo amp ... an early hybrid of sorts, with it's solid state preamp and EL84 power amp section.

Why do you guys hate Austin? Just kidding! I live in Austin and visited Nashville and those guitar stores last year. What a great town. I also loved that Buk was in both parts of the video. He's a great ambassador for Nashville. Cheers guys

About 20-22 years ago I was in Nashville on a job. I was put up in something like a 4 Seasons Hotel. Really nice luxury place across the street from Vanderbilt.Back in the day very few had cell phones or the plans weren't as good/cheap as they are today. I like to call home and talk to my wife every night, then I saw to dial California from the phone in my hotel was minimum 20 bucks with all the rip off hotel phone charges. So I got two 10 dollar rolls of quarters , went down to the lobby and used the pay phone to call home. (Remember pay phones?). This pay phone was 20 feet from a bar/lounge/restaurant. Night one I call and I can see a very pretty gal, maybe 30 years old -- very well dressed playing the piano and singing Broadway Show Tunes. VERY talented, really pro level -- and I never heard of her. So the next night, same pay phone and this time the same gal is in a cute Cowgirl outfit and is doing Country hits and even obscure artsy Country stuff. This went ion for 5 consecutive nights. Rock, Blues/Soul and finally some way in the weeds Classical almost avant garde stuff. WORLD CLASS talent. Made me think of the line in the the Billy Joel song "Man what are You doing here?'. The town is full of amazing musical talent.

Carter’s and rumble seat both are A+++ in my opinion. Gruhns. Not so much . I went there 3 times since they moved to their current location. All 3 times they wouldn’t let me upstairs. I was actually in the market and ready to buy. the guys there treated me in a very “we’re too cool” kind of way that just killed that place for me.

can you recommend a guitar tech in Nashville who can change out pickups?

Nashville is full of great repair people. You can call Gruhn's and they'll refer you to one of their great tech's on the third floor. We hope that helps. D&P

You guys are a little confused here. There isn't a "music store row" in Nashville. Music Row is the music business hub: recording studios, record companies, publishing houses, etc. No music stores. Carter Vintage was founded by Walter Carter and his wife Christie. No relation (as far as I know) to The Carter Family who were among the first purveyors of country music, originally recorded in Bristol, TN 1927.
