All the local music stores have disappeared the stores we used to hang out in all day long.. Tom's channel is like your favorite music store. It fills that void. And you don't even have to put your pants on

New, Younger guy here, gotta say I’ve been watching all of Doug and Pat’s videos and learned so much. Truly a blessing and wealth of useful knowledge/information here. Keep the videos coming! Also, Tom’s KZbin channel is equally amazing

This was one of, if not the coolest video’s I’ve watched on any channel. For one, you guys are the best. Funny, real as F, down to earth badass guys doing what you love while hanging with your best man. Then, taking a road trip with your wives ( That’s awesome, they deserve it for putting up with your passion, they should be there!) to go meet, interview and play vintage guitars with the coolest guy on the planet, in his kitchen! Blessed to the max…

I’ve spent 40 years working with video. Editing, shooting etc. What amazes me about Tom’s videos is they are unedited. One shot. And keeps your interest and has for the 200 + episodes. His playing as well as his speaking doesn’t need fixing. It’s truly amazing and most people may not appreciate that part of it. Doug and Pat. Love you boys ❤️ Edit. See? I can’t post a comment without needing to edit. Football. Another thing folks may not realize, the field is the shape of the Television screen. Makes it Perfect for TV. Keep on Rockin’. It keeps you young. In the head.
@andersestes Жыл бұрын
Yes. I've given that much thought too. I'll give you my two cents on it, if you don't mind : I feel a strong pull towards unedited /little edited content in general. The more produced, the more turned of. Worst examples are American "reality" shows like Hells Kitchen and the Bachelor. With 60 clips in 60 seconds. I consume almost no regular TV, if I do it's non fiction. My go to entertainment is KZbin. My thinking is that less editing gives : A feeling of being there in the room A feeling of being intimate A feeling of experiencing reality A feeling of being let in on something a bit private and personal And, I get less motion sickness and my brain can really process what I am seeing and hearing. It's slowed down. Less impressions gives space for reflecting on what I am experiencing. I also feel that I'm not being sold anything or manipulated In Norway, where I live. Some rather strange programs have had huge success. They call it "slow TV" one of them was called" hurtigruten minutter for minutt " wich was a 137 hour broadcasted of a ship traveling the Norwegian coastline. No voice over. Minimal editing.

For any new folks to Tom Bukovac, you will not find a better, more insightful guitarist in the world. Encyclopedic vintage guitar knowledge, but his playing..... To me, his expressive play is so heaping with feeling, power and grace.. Great episode, Doug & Pat!

At about the three quarter mark in the video Tom said he would be interested in a non-music related hobby that he would be excited to get out of bed to do. Whatever that hobby may be, I can see him going full in; the best tools and stuff then relentlessly attacking it. Lots of respect for Uncle Larry - thanks for the great video!

Its funny that the topic of being the youtube guy came up...Your the only person on youtube i dont really see as a youtuber. And i think i speak for the masses...You come off, like a guy shedding light to the session mans career, which is a first..All of the stories about all of the records you played on. All the artists you played for.... Its like the ultimate behind the scenes look into the Nashville session scene. People dig it.. Plus the channel is given birth to your own music... I think it was meant for you to do this, to put out your original music.. Theres No coincedences!!! Sometimes we just go through unfamiliar doors to get to the other side..That Bukavac/Trapp record is gonna be INSANEEE!! I know it. That mashing of the 2 styles, seems like a grand slam!!! Rock on!!.....Lol Pat said he cant get a word in edge wise, so true!!! There another good combo...

Also, listening to his honest admiration of music, as a whole, and him describe with wonder & joy how a song or musician or group can create a record that’s just sooo good it’s almost unbelievable-that right there is, in my opinion, why so many gravitate & enjoy watching his YT channel. It’s a sincerity, a genuineness that can’t be faked. Those of us who are around his age miss that. Those younger miss it too, but don’t know that’s what they miss. And in a way, it’s what is missing in music today, like he mentions. Probably because it seems to be missing from so much of society these days. What a great interview. Thank you both & your wives, and thank you, Tom Bukovac. Felt nice to visit with you all for awhile.
