It always looked to me that Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber did not like David's performance, but I thought it was great. Definitely do not agree with Simon on this one, but he was the only judge I respected because he never sugarcoated his remarks and tried to always tell the truth. It's just his opinion anyway, but David did an excellent job singing this song and I really liked the changes he made to the version that Andrew composed.

+S.A. C I have said this hundreds of times, I will never get over his loss on Idol, he was the sure winner!!! I do listen to him sing everyday, either on FB, playing a CD in my house or in the car. I go to as many converts as I can, he is an incredible performer. Soooooooo loved by his fans!! When he sings "Silent Night" it is incredible!! he gets a standing ovation, WHO ever gets a standing ovation for Silent Night?????? just David, they don't show it here but 21000 people stand up!! he sings it with so much spirit. I think Paula nailed it ... Turning a song that was written for the theater into a completely different style deserves praise for the risk David took in doing it that way. Even David himself said singing it back to such an outstanding composer in a style so completely different from the way it was written would have to be nerve-wracking.
