DH Changemakers 2023 |Fakirappa Harijan |Belagavi’s Social Worker Mobilises Persons with Disability

Fakir lost mobility in his lower limbs as a result of a childhood polio infection. He thought he had lost out on life, and went into a depressive state. It wasn’t until a member of the Jagruti Foundation drew him out of his shell that he realised his own potential. He founded the Khanapur Angavikalara Okkutta, which is a group of persons with disability in his taluk. He now counsels persons with disability and helps them avail facilities and find employment.
