Excellent videography! I love the way the horn sounds echoing off the mountains.

The Slurry Train now does all their switching at the North Bennington Yard, insead of the Hoosick Junction. It's still active, running daily Monday to Friday, arriving at No. Benn Station at about 12-1 pm.

Thanks, Andrew! I'd like to get up there to see it again. They must be out of Rutland around 8:00??

DH7409 - I'd say more toward 9 am. I'm about an hour+ south of Rutland, and they usually pass by my house around 12 - 12:30 pm. Good luck, and have fun.

I got lucky May 2009...The Vermont Railway slurry train was coming down to Hoosick Falls at the same time Batten Kill was coming down to interchange at Eagle Bridge....CP had the D&H 7312 parked on the interchange tracks as the Batten Kill interchanged cars....picture (not mine) was in railpace...then caught the VTR head north thru North Bennington...

Why can't the trains roll through when I'm actually in North Bennington??? The line sadly is out of service in Bennington and the station is a resturant, but it's fun to walk along the abandoned track :D

Every time when I see video like this, I just feel kind of sad.I live in Hong Kong and everything that I can see everyday is concrete, buildings, and cars. Its hard to find a tree, dont even mention place like this: trains, snow, river..... Damn I just hate HK more everday. I just want to live in place like this.

Both locos now gone from the roster as the B23-7 wasn't well liked and the 304 now gone out to lease..
