A downtown Mumbai apartment is more expensive than one in Oslo, you will be surprised. Dhaka is also fucking expensive if you want to own a house, it is impossible here.

yeah, so do not assume its cheap there, cause it is not if you are looking at assets, apartments are expensive, cars are freaking expensive because of import duties. Some people made them inflated , plus land is scare in overpopulated places. But services are cheap, that is why it is good if you are smart to go and live in third world, because you can afford luxury by easily affording maids, chauffeurs, private security guards, etc.

some people obviously know nothing about economics whatsoever. 40 dollars a month is not as little as in Europe or Japan etc. If you live in norway and your wage is about $25 per hour !!! its still not much as norway is incredibly expensive where as in india, africa, most of asia, its not bad as services tend to be cheaper.

If 40 dollar is much or not can only be analyzed when we know, how much they can buy of this amount of money. So to say 40 dollar without comparison to the lower price level there is senseless.

Energy makes up the largest expenses in Europe and all developed countries. I live in country with GDP per Capital 20,000. But majority of population lives in poverty almost, because they spend all their savings and income on Gas and Oil. Yes we have the most expensive natural gas in the world and we pay the most for Oil. If we would not need so much energy for heating, we could live far better life with 5,000 dollar per capital.
