As bad as this sounds because I don't want to lose Big Z Joshua and Lindholm especially for nothing I'd strongly consider trading Boeser because I think Lekkerimaki will be a better player than overall. It would be a very hard thing to do but when facing losing very good players for nothing that you spent assets on to get you need to trade players you do have signed and keep them.

Also I highly doubt myers gets more than 3.5m. At that price point with his size and his recent play, he's well worth it. I hear so many people saying to trade Demko and run with Silovs. They must have a short memory. Spencer Martin had a good short run which won him the back up job but he lost it quickly. Silovs had a sub 900 sv% and a near 3 GAA. He may be good but needs more time and experience.

Why did we trade a number 1 and 2nd round picks for Hronek? If he was going to cost the Canucks big money. It’s a waste of picks but it did make sense considering Canucks can’t draft. Tyler Myers is too inconsistent to still be a Canuck he did have a okay playoff but his regular season was frustrating. I think the Canucks are in Goalie controversy because Silvos looked very good and would Demko take a cut in starting? If the Canucks knew how to draft we wouldn’t have wasted a pick on Olli Juolevi and drafted one of the solid defenceman in that same draft like Charlie McAvoy.

Anyone who thinks we can trade Demko now because Silovs had a good couple of weeks has never held a goal stick in their life. Beginning of last season, when Spencer Martin had a lot of good starts, fans online were saying that we could trade Demko then and how did that turn out? Once teams got enough tape on Martin and figured out his weaknesses they lit him up and he was gone. Silovs shows great potential, and he's going to make an excellent back up next season, but he's only 23 and his positioning is still rough. He showed on a lot of the Oiler goals that he's not fast enough to get quickly across the crease AND still stay square to the shooter like Demko has after several years of learning under Ian Clark. Silovs still needs that too, and a few years of back up with the main club where he'll get to work with Clark everyday now will give us more options in two years when Demko's contract ends.

If you look at the entire team and what is missing during these playoffs, that should give the team the idea on who to keep and who to let go. The big, punishing defence was what allowed the team to prevail over the Predators and pushed the Oilers to the blink, so I personally feel big Z and Myers (or replacements for them) should be a priority. The team had an ineffective powerplay and no strong top six wingers who could score beside Boeser so signing a big winger who can score would be a priority. This leaves Hronek out for sure, and since the team is stuck with Petey, it doesn't make sense to try to sign Lindholm to play 3C or 2C with Petey on the wing... As for the goalie debate, Demko is on a reasonable contract - play Silovs more next year and see what the kid can do - I am concerned long-term for Demko's health so the team may need to trade him while he still has great value.

Aw c'mon, Donnie had to bring it up for the show. But yeah, no shot we're giving up Demko. It's not just that he's a Vezina nominee but that goalies are just really hard to develop and scout accurately, so when one turns out to be good, you hold on to them for dear life. What happens if Demko keeps getting injured? He only played 51 games this year and even fewer the year before. He couldn't make it out of Game 1 without being injured again. The smart thing to do is to platoon Demko and Silovs like Swayman and Ullmark in Boston.

Ugh. Wasn't sure Demko was that close. That he was 100% ready for game 1 versus Dallas is a bit of a gut punch. For him as much as the team and fans. With that said, that would have been a brutal series on the Canucks. They looked pretty cooked by the end of it. Too many 1 goal games, comebacks, injuries and just overall emotion. It was draining even as a fan.

Cole was horrible and 2nd worst was Myers. They need to use that money towards Tanev and Zadorov. This is a very bad situation for management having so many very good players and facing losing lots of assets for nothing. If it comes down to it as bad as it sounds I'd rather trade Boeser at least he's tradeable and sign.the players we spent lots of assets to get and don't want to lose for nothing. Obviously this would be very hard to do but sometimes you have to do very tough things to be better in the future. Lekkerimaki will replace his goals if put with Miller and will be a much better player overall. The only guys I really think are very replaceable are Myers, Cole and Blueger the rest I want to keep and that would be impossible and there's absolutely no way I trade Demko. With Silovs in net the Canucks likely wouldn't even be a playoff team next year he's not good enough yet and don't think he'll ever be as good as Demko.

It's easy, dump Myers and keep Z. Myers ain't worth even 3 mil. Dump Cole (for certain), develop Juulsen, Joshua (maybe at low price). Hronek isn't worth 8 Mil (joke) 5 tops. Keep Zadorov let Myers walk. I have no idea wtf Rick was watching but Myers is not good. He is average at his best. Giving the puck up, getting turnstiled. F**k $3 million, that is insane. $2 million at best. They need Zadorov. I like him but there is no way Lindholm gets $7 million +. Again, Rick is insane. If he wants that much, he can get it from Boston, not here. If they all priced themselves out of here with 1 playoff round win, then gtfo. It was 1 playoff round, not a cup run.
