Buddhism rejects the idea of God. Ajhan Brahm tries not to challenge the idea in front of a Christian because Buddhist does not cause conflict unless it is helpful and benefits the other side. It is not offensive, though, to tell them that there is no God because that could help people think deeper and search deeper for truth.

Especially when being asked directly about what Buddhism thinks of the idea of God, the answer should be straight: Buddhism rejects the idea of God. This answer is th only way to respect the questioner

It is not respecting the questioner if one tries avoiding answering it directly. It could have been an enlightenment moment for the questioner

To let anyone who is seeking by asking questions come out of ignorance is to tell the truth. That is what the Buddha did and that is why people at that time had the opportunity to come out of ignorance. Never be shy from telling them the truth with respect. It is a gold opportunity for the seekers to learn.

For example, someone who believes the earth is flat comes to ask an astronaut who saw the shape of the earth from a rocket ship with the question: what shape of the Earth an astronaut thinks. What is the proper answer from the astronaut?😊 "The earth is a 🌎" "people might feel the Earth is flat because their limited visibility, but the earth is a globe 😔🌍" This answer might be shocking and unsatisfying for the one who asked the question, but it is an opportunity for that person to learn the truth

The first step to reach peace and happiness is having the right views. To tell the truth to the seekers, is to clear out the wrong view they have.
