Agreed. Any KZbinr commits a crime and gets held accountable and people call it canceling, when what we should do is acknowledge that the things they have done are illegal. I see people say that all of the time, and it’s so irritating. Saying a KZbinr got “cancelled” after committing a crime feels like people are just trying to downplay a very serious situation.

@vlo48292 жыл бұрын
@@lilly.bloomm When it comes to things like labeling people as "racist", it is more situational, because I've seen people throw around "racist" when a white person disagrees with a black person, for example, which is not racism. Racial jokes may also be considered "racist" or not depending on what the joke is, how sensitive or manipulative the listener is, etc. Racist accusations MAY be the result of a concerted effort to cancel someone if they are false, dubious, out-of-context, etc. That's why I said this is different because there's no grey area whatsoever. The guy was ARRESTED and the video alludes to him being guilty, so it wasn't false allegations or an online hate mob. He committed a crime. You can't just blame "haters" if you get caught committing a crime. So silly.

Okay so...I don't wanna be lame or weird about this but I definitely know more about the Eric & Allison Day lore (cause there's an entire preceding hour-long video about them getting together and her being taken advantage of for her fame) and I'd like to believe that Eric stepping in to talk to Corey about not being comfortable with the scene was solely for the purpose of shedding light on Allison's disposition. The way they've crafted her character is that she has a hard time saying no or being assertive (which is relatable when you're really easy to coerce into decisions) and you see Eric taking a stand to make sure she doesn't feel like she's being pressured into something she doesn't wanna do. Again, not trying to be super lame about it, but I know I'm the kind of person that would need someone to knock some sense into the other person cause I'd have a damn hard time saying 'no' myself lol.

@@ducks_are_dragons Just saw these comments, and watched it so that I could share. It begins with this baker and his employee heading in to start their shifts, and on the way to the bakery, they see a lesbian couple getting fitted for wedding attire through a window. He barges in and starts berating them, and telling them how disgusting it was. The seamstress kicked him out, and the employee tried to reason with him a bit. It then cuts to the bakery, and the emplyee is working her shift when a trans woman comes in. Based on the employee's reaction, she's someone of notoriety, and she swung by to try and get some pastries for a party she was throwing. The baker sees her, gets upset, and starts unloading on her. In this scene, and the next several, he gets really heavy with "your people" kind of talk. She says that its not worth dealing with, and leaves to find someone else who will serve her. Cut to a while later, and the lesbian couple from earlier walks in, intending to pick up an order they placed for their wedding. The baker notices this, and starts berating them again. They go back and forth, before he gets tired of it, and crams their order in the trash. They leave, and the employee gives him an earful for his behavior. They go back and forth a bit before the employee reveals herself to be someone from the LGBTQ+ community, quits, and threatens to opening a business that will rival his. It goes well for a while, but she doesn't gain much traction. Before long, she's out searching for a job, and on her search, they bump into each other. He teases her about how her business plans aren't working out, and leaves. The trans woman from earlier walks up, notices the former employee, and offers some workds of wisdom and motivation. She offers up an idea of starting a business that specifically caters to diversity and the community. The former employee takes this advice, and her business really thrives. On the other side, the baker finds that his business is failing, and he is constantly getting bad reviews for his mistreatment of customers. Before long, he loses enough profit to where he can no longer keep his bakery, and who other to swoop in and by it than the former employee? He finds that she came by to finalize the transaction, and begins accusing her of running him out of business. The trans woman and lesbian couple from earlier walk up and start giving him the whole speech about how his actions had consequences, and he left in a fit of rage. It kind of ends abrubtly at that point. Sorry that this was a bit long. There was so much that happened that left a bitter taste in my mouth, and nothing of much significance happens. The baker remains awful, just without a business. The comments were also pretty bad and full of edgy trolls trying to rile people up

It trivialized both the creep behavior and "cancel culture". I know people have different ideas on what being "canceled" means, but to me, it's not when someone's career ends because they got arrested like in this video. The affects of getting arrested for committing a crime on your career is logical and reasonable. It's when someone's career is ended by a mob, usually of internet bullies/"journalists", for petty reasons or outright lies.

The intention matters IF the response after is also good. There's still some assurance from someone apologizing as well as saying they didn't mean it, and then clearly making the effort to make up for it and/or not do it again vs someone who does the latter but did intend to do it. Even so, the most important part is definitely how they respond afterwards. The recognition of how it made the person feel and the follow up of proper actions is typically the MOST important thing.

How was he being overly suspicious? People seem to forget that a relationship involves multiple people, you can trust all you want but in reality most aren’t trustworthy, I’d rather trust my gut (which in this case the youtuber was obviously trying to get with the girl and alienate the boyfriend from the start, anyone with any intuition can see that) and if something is making me feel a certain way, air it out even if people like you call _that_ toxic when it would be toxic _not_ to communicate openly and honestly- would you think it toxic if a guy was trying to protect his girlfriend from someone trying to attack her? ‘She can fight for herself, how dare you invalidate her individuality by presuming she needs you to defend her.’ Or whatever the argument would be to make the analogy fit. She can rebuff a guy making advances on her she doesn’t want, but the boyfriend, who is equally involved in her business because they have joined into a _joint relationship_ has just as much right to step up and defend- not only _her,_ but the *relationship itself.* And if she has a problem with that, perhaps she doesn’t _want_ the relationship strengthened, because she knows it isn’t the one that will last.

Both the Corey and NotJarvis actors were so good. Also, police investigating sexual harassment??? Bullshit
@littlebeesam2 жыл бұрын
Honestly 100% this actor is super good! I feel he luld fit in perfectly in Skins or Degrassi and I mean that in a huge complementary way! Wayy too good for Dhar Man scripts. This whole video felt like a fever dream of good acting but bad scripts, like it feels like a part in a movie where they make a really bad script on purpose like lol. Also I felt the Jarvis character was so good I thought he was gonna punch Cory, then I remembered its Dhar Man and all he did is walk away and ignored his girlfriend for 3 days

i mean, seeing the "will smith slap" video dhar mann did it isn't shocking he didn't make him do that, considering he spins will smith's actions into a malicious thing of toxic masculinity (and literally made the end message "don't use violence even if you're physically attacked" and tried excusing the chris rock stand-in's jokes. which were about her weight, despite it literally being said that she struggled with her weight)

The worst part is the message with this video. It sorta puts all the blame onto the couple when they were literally victims. It's not that he didn't trust her it's that they both were manipulated. And the fact that the entire foundation was her being sexually harassed ect. Like surely you can show couples trusting each other without going to these extremes. I feel like the video was for a completely different message.
@Zorae422 жыл бұрын
Nah, that bf sucked ass. He didn't communicate with her at all and fucking ignored her for 3 days. She also sucked at communication, but at least she didn't act like a child. A single, "Sucks you have to work through lunch, I'll be waiting outside with the meal I made you" text or a "Boss said the crew was going out to dinner but he actually just invited me and then there were paparazzi, this fucking sucks and he's such a creep." would've made his manipulations collapse, and that's like, standard couple shit. And like, they said that she hates the paparazzi apparently to such a degree that even the damn waiter knew that about her, but her BF didn't??? Why didn't he get immediately sus when the creep said she talked to them and like, TALK to his GF about it? She should have saw those red flags and turned him down when he asked for forgiveness. Because is he going to ignore her for 3 days the next time she gets sexually harassed? When they have some other argument? That behavior is fucking toxic.
@bunnyrabi2 жыл бұрын
No no the boyfriend pretty bad too. Why even entertain a conversation that involves your girlfriend being kissed by another guy, not even that but why trust a stranger to deliver a message from your girlfriend when she is legit in front of you. Like if you are that easily manipulated then you aren't a bad person,but you are definitely not part of the solution. Don't be a bystander in especially your own affairs😂
@princessofhell46392 жыл бұрын
@@bunnyrabi OK this comment is from months ago so idk how much I'll remember but I'll try to reply Firstly I mean it's not unheard for actors and influencers to kiss people for clout and that so idk, plus there's not much he could do when it was clear his gf wanted to try to work with the dude so he couldn't just brush him off cus that'd reflect badly on her. Secondly, he couldn't really accuse the dude of lying right then and there as it would've just done no good and the dude didn't let him speak to his gf that's why, it's not his fault the other dude was a douche and purposefully manipulated him. Don't victim blame lmao people get manipulated all the time and you shouldn't be mean about it. He wasn't being a bystander, he was being purposefully misdirected and prevented from talking to her.

Its insane to think that the bf shouldnt have any input about an "on screen kiss". Does he control her? No. Can she do as she pleases? Yes. Of course. But a good partner would and should have a conversation with their spouse before doing that. Its not about controlling the girl, its about respecting the guy.
