Fun Film fact: There's actually a few reasons spaghetti appears in a lot of movies and TV. 1. It's very cheap and easy to make, just buy some noodles and a jar of sauce for a convincing enough meal (and if you want to make it look fancier, that's easy too with a few garnishes). 2. It's very easy to make in bulk, so if a scene needs to be re-shot you don't have to worry about making a whole entire meal again. Just slap some more noodles on the plate. 3. It's very easy to maintain continuity. With food like sandwiches, burgers, anything you take a bite out of, it can be a nightmare for continuity. Once you take a bite out of it, you can't un-take it. If you need to do another take, you need a whole new burger. Time consuming, more expensive, and it can be wasteful. With something like spaghetti, you can just toss more noodles and sauce on the plate, or just by nature of the way most people eat it (by twirling it around your fork, pushing it around, etc), it's not really noticeable if anything has changed. tl;dr most productions use spaghet because it's cheap, easy to make a ton of, and easy to maintain continuity! I've been thinking of this for a while and can never make streams so hopefully these fun facts are entertaining to y'all
@elio99732 жыл бұрын

Dhar Mann is notorious for backwards logic. One of the videos that really hurt me as a fat person was him making a video about a wife that puts on weight and her husband cheats on her and leaves her for the woman he had an affair with because she “let herself go and got fat.” After he left her, she lost the weight. The woman he had an affair with cheated on him. He let himself go and got fat. They ran into each other and he asked to get back together. She threw the fact that he was fat in his face “epic burn style” and left with her new boyfriend who was cut by the hand of the gods. So the message remained, if you’re fat it’s a bad thing.

It’s such a cornerstone of dhar man videos, everyone has to be the perfect victim. They can’t just be people who should be treated with respect bc they’re….people
@xinf3ctdx Жыл бұрын
@@sofastuffingDefinitely more of a character/writing issue. All I saw was a 16 year old kid acting like a p**sy because he can’t stand up for himself in the most bare minimum kind of way. All he had to do was say “Your mom said that I could grab a slice” and it would’ve been done, but no. He gets told by another kid that he can’t have any of the pizza and he goes, “Oh, you’re right. I should’ve asked first. I’m sorry.” That isn’t emotional maturity. That’s being a b**ch. how has so many people in the chat never played bingo before in their lives. you don't just argue stuff and try to call it yourself, the bingo caller calls it and everyone else quietly plays. that's how bingo works. it's getting to the point where 10% of the talking is actual commentary on the video and the rest is just arguing with chat over the bingo squares. :/

Exactly. It's making it harder and harder to watch, as someone not even joining the streams but watching the VODs. Ooof.... I work in mental health. Sometimes, kids have been through a lot of trauma from a very young age. I don't need to detail anything I've seen in my clients, but trust me it's like.... a lot. I HATE the trope that kids who've been through trauma are these mature, generous, wise beyond their years little saints. The reality of it is kids who have been through trauma will often have a lot of anger and behavioral issues. Sometimes they get into fights or curse people out. The reality of childhood trauma is the kids aren't always easy to deal with, and it's important to still have empathy for them. So trying to write a story where they're just perfect tools to teach rich kids a morality lesson is cheap, cliche, and even damaging.

I honestly appreciate you skipping over the Autism video as someone with Autism, I've been burnt out trying to relax and it keeps coming up in random videos where the creator isn't prepared to approach the subject with research or kindness or the content they're reacting to is still so uncomfortable to sit through. I do think Jarvis would respect the subject, but sometimes the content being reacted to can be hard to watch.
@mlpdisneylover3 жыл бұрын
As another autistic person, I kinda want Jarvis to go all in on those videos. They make me kinda angry tbf with how Dhar treats such subject matter. The one I saw YourMovieSucks and SomeOrdinaryGamers react to is just very ridiculous, especially with how the autistic characters are portrayed, and aren’t very... relatable I guess you could say, like how they don’t focus on the socially awkward/anxious aspect of being autistic.

I appreciate that Jarvis is sensitive against calling abused children "unrealistically emotionally mature" because he knows that growing up from being traumatized is inherently different to children who are just weirdly and unnaturally mature in media. I'm hardly mature in my mid-twenties, but people often misinterpreted my trauma responses, silence, and acceptance for maturity as a child, which they weren't.

i decided to watch the autism one that wasn't covered simply because I'm autistic and im usually very critical of autistic representation but the video surprisingly wasn't handled too terribly. it was definitely tacky and had ableist insults and followed the generic "autistic kid is excluded and then once included, shows up their peers" story line. other than that it is actually kinda relatable and it pains me to say it LMAO
@kirstenbass19683 жыл бұрын
I find plot lines where the autistic person has to be exceptional at something to be accepted kind of awful tbh. Like, there are plenty of average people out there. It’s like being expected to “make up for” yourself in a way. Kills the whole message

Tbh his mom should have just given his PS5 to Adam/the kid with the job, and told him he could work to pay for it himself. Or at least made him pay for half of it and matched the other half of the price, idk. Idk, maybe I'm too strict, but if my kid acted like that* they'd be doing a lot more sustained chores around the house from now on. *it's a moot point because IRL kids don't act quite as cartoonishly bad as that, but
@funkybugman3 жыл бұрын
i agree definitely. spoiled ass gets away with doing work but gets some extra pocket change, and poor kid has the same situation from before. I would give the poor kid the ps5, so all the hard work from before is extra for him to do what he chooses with. I would have spoiled ass do the same chores as consequences in which there are not rewards for. I’d maybe start paying him if I felt he had genuinely started learning the value of work/

at a certain point i feel like people need to be booted from streams if they can't follow basic rules. like there's a rule that you can't @ jarvis in the chat for a reason; that's what redeeming a msg highlight is for. and it's hard to tell if people are asking for square calls as a joke (like time skip) or if they're just being intentionally dense. people like this are why i can't watch twitch in real time, it's so obnoxious lmao
