Making/Keeping friendships is probably one of the most stressful things about being an adult, especially as a woman. This message came right on time for me

It's hard for guys too. But I agree. Harder to maintain too as people are so different. The amount of people that have walked out of my life, but the Lord has protected me from. Thankful for his love that friends can't really fulfill.

This has to be confirmation in my life without a doubt. Yesterday, I was listening to a message by Dr. Charles Stanley on the importance of building wise friendships. Today, the Lord brought me here on knowing that people we are calling friends aren't one. Furthermore, In prayer yesterday, I asked the Lord to send me people who are for me, and to release friendships that aren't, and be at peace with both decisions. The Christian life is the best with endless amounts of wisdom and spiritual growth. I'd never turn back to live in the world whatsoever. I'm glad to be living for Jesus, and being reminded of the importance of having good friendships in life. Like Dr. Dharius Daniels said. Friendships are either making deposits or withdrawals in our lives.

I been on this a lot lately. Relationships influence your character while making decisions, growing in ministry, and simply growing as a person & living out your calling and purpose. In this season I’m praying for discernment, so I will not be deceived and stagnant.

Unshakeable Character - It's so important. Friends basically become the everyday therapist for our lives and the trials we undergo. It's important that we keep those around us who are not afraid to hold us accountable and not just tickle our ears and life with nothing but fluff. It is disastrous and we cannot grow that way. The last thing you want is to have people around encouraging you to continue on in your mess. No.

I've been burned too many times by folks I called friend. God taught me to forget all of that. People are mostly transactional. They will surely go once they get what they want.

Whewww...This is an ON TIME word! Recently "AGAIN" God by His spirit through prayer told me to let a friend go...I tried to hold on to her for 18+ years. It hurts, but I know that it's necessary. I'm expecting God to place me around like-minded Christian believing women where we all LOVE Jesus for REAL! Thanks. so much for this video ❤❤❤

I have a really tender heart and so I care about the broken-hearted. These facts have been taken for granted. Sometimes the heart of people who develop friendships is beyond the care factor. I am guarded now and will be extra careful who I allow into my space. Motives are real!

Yes, let them. It's so funny I should add how God moves. Someone earlier last year tried to come back into my life after removing me from social media. 5+ years later. Forgiveness is important, but you don't forget these things, and I simply denied. The Bible reminds us to walk in wisdom. And when we do, it makes our lives way easier.

I think I kind of learned the hard way. I lost a friend due to moving away starting a new job in another state. We were supposed to meet up when I tried to visit but he was busy. Years later he was on the bad end of a business deal and got burned badly. I still keep in touch with this person by text but I feel for his well being. He never elaborates on whats hes been doing like he used. I think he now suffers from severe PTSD due to this bad business deal. Hes now more an acquaintance than a friend you can call for a party. I keep telling myself I've moved past him, but keep feeling a sense of shame for what could have been if he had not engaged in that bad deal.

Yes. That's why I love the Bible and even apps like youversion. I've read so many Devotionals on friendships and one that got me recently was really asking people to discern the kind of friendships people have in their lives. Longevity isn't enough in friendships these days. Who cares if one has been friends with someone since kindergarten, or University. Let alone High School. At the end of the day, if they're diminishing your light, and rebuking the favor of God over our lives, then we seriously need to tread carefully with those people we spend time with, or love them from a distance.

Walk with the wise and become wise. Walk with fools and get.in trouble/suffer harm. Gotta love the Bible. It's true what you're saying. I've always pictured it that you never know who will walk out of your life tomorrow, so it's good to endlessly remember your foundation in Jesus and be reminded of who he says we are . The rights ones for our lives will come. Otherwise, some can drift be loved from a distance and be blessed.

Friendship starts with being a friend to yourself first. The only way to set expectations for friendship is knowing your inner self and who God says I am. Once you know that, it becomes easier to decipher one’s true character. This practice will not happen overnight, so pray for discernment/wisdom and God will show you things. God showed me betrayal of a friendship behind my back the next day after I prayed about it that night. He showed me through a dream and brought forth a credible source a month after having the dream. Thus, it was all true at the end. Also, What I learn this year is when someone shows your their true character believe them! Don’t think you can change that person especially in a relationship.

Everything you said is so good. I wj say though that we shouldn't discount that people can change but I get what you're saying and I'm in full agreement. I asked the Lord to expose my friendships, and exciting enough, there are people the Lord told me to remove, and exposed people. Just because they're saved or unsaved doesn't mean that they're for you. Some people come with hidden motives and as I've realized, especially in the age of social media, we need to endlessly discern the people in our lives. That's why his book Relational Intelligence helped me so much in addition to Dr. Henry Cloud's book on Boundaries because the Lord can answer our prayers in these moments when we invite him in.

I totally agree...we can't have the same relationship with the janitor as we do the lady in human resources. To call someone your friend starts with being a friend to yourself. A true friend will tell you when you smell good and when your attitude stinks.

Please no one come for me... I'm not hating on this video at all but the sound levels really need to be adjusted. The music is way too loud compared to the actual message and as someone with sensory issues it really threw me off and made it harder for me to engage with the rest of the video. I know not much can be done about it now it's been posted, but please bear in mind for future content. I had to turn the sound up because the level on the recording was too low but then the music came in blaring 😩🙉

Good word. If i may make a suggestion: your voice is really quiet, but the intro music is really loud by comparison. I had to turn it waaay up to hear. you, then the intro nearly made my eardrums bleed so i turned it back down. Then you came back on and I couldn't hear you!

The message speaks volume. However we can dive deeper. We’re calling it deposits and withdrawals when it comes to so called friendships but what is it called when your own grown children that you raised by yourself and in the Lord’s house behaves or communicates the same way as these so called friends. You can pick and choose friends but when it comes down to your own children they were given and assigned to you….

But she is rarely there anymore and studies s in different school from her siblings. She raised a black child from infant. They burned a cross in her family house yard only 20 years ago in 2003 not 1950s. I was telling my coworkers about her and they ohhhh we thoughtvyou meant somebody black. I never said that
