The dad was a character I could respect. As a former addict (6 years clean now) this really touched my heart!! People really don't understand you really can't just stop!! It's not that easy and when you child ir children get removed, it makes you go deeper into addiction to try and ease the pain!! I wish CPS would understand that removing children won't make a person get clean and it makes it worse. I love the ending and hopefully people that are struggling at this very moment will see this and see there is still hope!!

I totally agree with the dad. To love someone you have to love yourself first. I was a drug addict on meth, for a long time. My husband gave me an ultimatum: either him or the meth. I chose him. I decided to get my life together and get off the drugs. If the mother wants to get her son back, she HAS to get off the drugs

One thing though is drug addicts often villianised. I liked that the father had compassion to see where she was coming from. Yes being addicted to drugs are bad but at the end of the day it’s also an illness. It’s not that easy to get off it either. If you can do something along the lines of portraying someone in that light it would definitely change lives. It’s such a brutal thing to deal with

The mother is not a bad person either, she just had no choice. Addiction is not something you can overcome easily, it's tempting and sometimes temptation gets the best of you.

The Dad was trying to keep his Son away from the bad influence of his Mother, he is respectable man and is shown to be a good parent. Yes but the only unrealistic part is that heather had keys and the grandma didn't even heard her walking even if she listened to the music she could've turn around and look to see if someone broke into her house plus seh would hear if she was coming like that was not realistic at all
