This friend helped him get back on his feet and regain his daughter. Like how this story touched upon the opioid epidemic. This one hit home for me. My husband broke his back when he was 17 (he’s now 29) and has severe nerve damage. He still work through the pain but is in CONSTANT pain. He says it’s always at a level 8. And some days it gets worse. He hates to even take Tylenol and all the drs wanna do is give him pain killers. I couldn’t imagine treating him like this. How sad.
