Bishestha Shrestha is the co founder of Gyanbodh Research and Development services. She is a gender studies specialist with experience of working in this sector for almost 6/7 years. She’s also a PhD candidate and is currently affiliated with Daayitwa as a Project Manager.
We connected with Bishestha Shrestha to explore the topic of sexual abuse and assault. Why some people come forward with their story while others don’t.
As we got to know her and all of her contributions in the subject of Gender Equality and Social Inclusion, she opened up about her own story of sexual abuse at the age of 4.
Getting to know her story and what she went through gave us a clear idea of what it means to a survivor when they go through sexual abuse and the impact it has on them. If anything, this episode has helped us realize the importance of empathy and compassion. We hope it holds true to all our viewers and listeners as well.
Here’s to Bishesta di, for coming forward with your story and reclaiming your power! We admire you and thank you for trusting us enough to share your story for the very first time on a public platform

I tried being one of your regular followers but always felt something is not clicking with your podcasts. Now i think I know. You guys are too young and inexperienced. The gap of life/work/academics/practical experience between yourself and your guests are so huge and you guys trying to give your thoughts on such topics does not resonate well. You guys can experiment by changing the format so that you guys are trying to learn from your guests rather than acting like YES WE UNDERSTAND and giving your childish examples and experiences. You guys always try to add 1 cent to your guests answers WHY is that? And if you want us to believe you are trying to learn about all these then TRUST me your questions and gestures don't match. BOTTOM LINE YOU GUYS DON"T KNOW SHIT ABOUT LIFE THAT THESE GUESTS are explaining. So ask/learn from the perspective of your age group and be honest and may be It won't be so bad. Your guests are VERY INTERESTING but you guys are not. You don't ask INTERESTING questions but always add 1 cent of your experience to their answer. Now that i think about it, Even I am confused to who your target audience are ? The inexperienced who look upto these guests or the experts who understand the guests ? What do you want from these sessions ? To Learn From Your Guests Or To try to make your guests/audience believe you understand ? You guys have so much potential to be the top youth centric podcast channel of nepal BUT you guys forget to ask youth questions. Challenge your guests with your beliefs. Ask them isn't it like this. I thought this was right. Why would you say xxx ? As these will be the questions the youths will also have on their mind. Not all youths are EXTRA HYPER TALENTED like you guys who act like they know everything 😂
